Promotional poster/ check list from MAD for Round5's "Bruce Lee's Temple of Kung Fu" figure series

It's been some time since we first announced HERE the powerhouse collaboration between Round 5 and MAD... and honestly, I was getting kinda concerned (not really, hahaha). Well the reason for the temporay silence is because they have been strategically planning their next move... and here we go! Spotted on display at the DKE booth during SDCC 2012... con goers got a peek at these up close and personal... and they look great! That being said, on MAD's Facebook page today he posted up the above image of all said characters (minus chases) in Series 1. Round 5 really called upon MAD for his expertise in the designer toy field, how products were produced, how they were released, what collectors look for... and MAD delivered with this fantastic new series!

The first Temple of Kung Fu figures scheduled for global release this summer will feature a 3" blind box assortment of 28 characters including a variety of mystery characters, and will be available at select retailers around the world. In addition to the standard figures, Temple of Kung Fu will include hyper-limited chase figures featuring alternative colorways, costume designs, and accessories, making for a truly unique collecting experience! Oh, and can you say playability... check out all that articulation... SWEET!

Don P's Ninja Turtle Andriod custom of TMNT's Michael Angelo!

Growing up, I loved watching those classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoons… and while the free-spirited and juvenile Michael Angelo wasn't my favorite of TMNT character, he was certainly the one my youthful mentality could relate to best. So when Don P followed up his Raphael custom with this redesigned Android figure, it made me smile. Lots of beautiful sculpting, especially on the mask and shell, with the perfect inclusion of his nunchaku accessories.
As best as we can tell, this is a commissioned piece for the same individual as the Raphael was… which, fingers crossed, might mean that Don P is going to do all the turtles for this benefactor. Want to commission Don P yourself? Drop him a line on his contact page!

Doktor A's "A Postcard from New Yorkshire" solo art show in NY!

It's been almost a year since Doktor A's last solo art show, so the announcement that there will be one — let alone that it is in New York — is fantastic news! This display of new works promises to push the boundaries, being far more original sculptures than custom pieces with two-dimensional drawings to supplement the exhibit as well. Fantastic!

Erick Scarecrow & ESC Toy's NYCC Sneak Peaks: Mini Soopa and…???

It seems to already be that time, as people start leaking New York Comic-Con exclusive teases… Erick Scarecrow's ESC-Toy has issued the above sneak of the mini Soopa Jr Coin-Up figures. While we can't tell what height they are or material they are made out of, it is obvious that there are five colorways shown: pink, red, purple, blue, and gray. But that's not all they've teased…

While the angle makes it rather hard to tell, this looks a bit like a Soopa Maria with a Mama Sama style cap… but Soopa Maria doesn't have a full raccoon suit on usually. Could this be a brand new figure? Time will tell…

If you've been watching these pages, then you've probably been enjoying the evolution of this amazing custom 3-inch Dunny by UK-based artist Squink. Oh yes, didn't I mention… this wonderful piece will be up for sale HERE in Squink's online shop on Friday, July 27th, 2012! Hoakser customizes Stu Witter & Jon Burgerman's Worrynot!

Back in 2007, Stuart Witter & Jon Burgerman collaborated on an original resin cast figure: the Worrynot. Only 10 copies of the Worrynot DIY were created and now — thanks to The ProjectsHoakser's been able to customize one of them. Under Hoakser's hand, the design is treated more like an urban playground structure than a strange creature, as he has coated it in graffiti like scrawl… Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but I always find playground structures covered in bombs and tags to be sad, like some childhood lost. And maybe that's what Hoakser's conveying with his take on this deranged beast. We understand that it will be available at some point tomorrow, July 26th, 2012 HERE for £200 (approx. $310).

Jon-Paul Kaiser's custom Munny Zipper-Pulls of the Star Wars Skywalkers!

Why'd you take a picture of those Munnys so far away, Mr. Jon-Paul Kaiser? They look so tiny, so… oh my! Those are 0.5" Munny Zipper-Pulls you've customized, aren't they!?! In the picture on the left, you can see the two customs Kaiser delicated crafted: Luke Skywalker next to Anakin Skywalker… son and father from Star Wars reunited! The right-hand photo is a detail of the Anakin customs's profile, highlighting the tiny scar next to his eye. Kaiser certainly knocked these out, as working on this tiny scale can not be easy…
