WHAT'S NEW

Baby Carrier Droid BC-1 Is Headed to Winter Wonderfest 2026…and I Seriously Love This Thing!

New sofubi work from Molding Mule just dropped on my radar and wow… this one instantly grabbed me. Meet BC-1 (Baby Carrier Droid), a super charming and slightly surreal design that blends soft mechanical forms with an unexpected dose of warmth and personality. I think this design is seriously cool, and the concept alone makes it stand out from the crowd.
What makes BC-1 even more interesting is its journey. This piece originally started life as a 3D printed figure, then evolved into a 27-piece resin garage kit, and now it’s making its way into the world of sofubi. I love seeing that kind of evolution in a project… you can really feel the thought and care that went into refining this character across multiple formats. Now, I never played the game 'Death Stranding', but I have seen plenty of trailers and gameplay videos where the maid character transports a baby - and this totally reminds me of it, but in its own unique way!
The sofubi version of BC-1 will be available at Winter Wonderfest 2026, so if you’re attending, definitely stop by the Molding Mule booth and check it out in person. There hasn’t been any official word yet on edition size or final dimensions, but the resin kit stood around 7" tall, so I’m guessing the sofubi release will land right around that same size.
From the soft curves of the droid body to the adorable baby tucked safely inside the carrier dome, this piece feels both futuristic and strangely comforting. I am super inspired by this design, like seriously love it… it’s playful, well-executed, and feels right at home in a modern sofubi collection. Make sure to keep an eye on Molding Mule for more details as Winter Wonderfest gets closer, because this is absolutely one to watch.
