Just like all the events that are hosted here, not only were there a ton of people opening up blind boxes, but so many brought out their 'extras' in hopes that they could trade up for that piece they wanted... oh and there was FREE Ben & Jerry's ice-cream thanks once again to Ephraim of the Seaport Village location! All in all it was a great night, and what a cool series. Hit the jump for a photo slide show from the event.

**RECAP** Dunny Azteca Series 2 release and trading party @ Gunnzo 1/20/2011
San Diego came out in full force tonight as the only vinyl shop in town hosted yet another awesome event. Gunnzo was packed with collectors from every age bracket and gender all ready to tear into the latest Dunny release from Kidrobot... the much anticipated Azteca Series 2. There were some really great pieces pulled... in fact we spotted them all except for the elusive Jesse Hernandez piece, but there are still a few cases left in the shop so I am sure that one is still waiting for one lucky person.

Cemetarial Dirge? Black Wounds? Weeping Hallows? Oh... it's just Skinner again!
This just in... Skinner shreds up another EPIC painting, this time he used a little wizardry of his own and put together a time lapse of what he is calling the "Cemetarial Dirge, Black Wounds of the Weeping Hallows". Spanning a total of 4 days, on/off painting, you can see why this guy is making the big bucks... he's honestly too talented for his own good, don't believe me... watch the entire video and then pick your jaw off the floor once finished!

Light up your life with KAWS light bulbs!
What can't KAWS put his mark on, we have seen rugs, ashtrays, soap, lotion, beer, poo and now he invades the very thing that lets you see in the dark... that's right folks, he has his own light bulb. He has teamed up with The Standard to release a limited, but non-numbered edition of 1,000 sets of 3 bulbs each in red, purple and green. These are 3 watt bulbs, so you don't have to worry about too much power consumption, but don't plan on lighting up any rooms with these as they are strictly for show. I personally really like these... maybe because I have never seen a bulb like it before and I am intrigued by it... what I don't like is the price, these are retailing for $65... I guess it's the price you pay for KAWS branded items. Pick your set up HERE today.

"Gangtoyz Trooper" custom Munny by Cpassek
We have covered some works by artist Cpassek of Gangtoyz HERE previously, and he recently sent over an image of a custom on 7" Munny that he designed, and just like the majority of his work... it's top notch! Titled "Gangtoy Trooper" this custom is obviously based on a Stormtroop from Star Wars... with a little added pizazz. I love the style that is apparent in all of his work, and that high-gloss finish looks soooo nice! Take a minute and check out all his other work, and as you can tell...this type of quality is par for the course, amazing design from an amazing designer!

Made In Japan... NOT!
If you ever wanted to see the underside of "Warui Inu"... now you can say you have, and more importantly this crazy looking creation that we have been posting about HERE and HERE is making it very clear that although it is made of vinyl... it's made in the USA! This is good news for the vinyl scene, and it's really cool to see people using resources in the USA to get things produced. This has me wondering though... is this true, seeing as who we think is making the figure is Japan's own NagNagNag, so why not get them produced in Japan if that is the case... hopefully more info will be revealed soon. In any case... these are said to be dropping next week, so stay tuned. **UPDATE** After posting this up we got some interesting news... although the dog figure dubbed "Warui Inu" is meant to be with the "Boryoku Genjin" the man like character made by NagNagNag, this however is not made by NagNagNag, and the first "Warui Inu" is made of resin, not vinyl... yet!

CrappyCat : Series 1 mini figures... teaser
This one most definitely slipped by me, seeing as it was posted up on December 31st of 2010 by VanBeater , but the CrappyCat mini-figure series is moving right along and the proof of this is in the photo above. You may remember our posts about the prototypes HERE, and now seeing a little paint along with almost empty 6'er accessory, makes this release closer and closer to becoming reality. More soon!
