All Hail the Grub Lord... Fixed Temple Toys and Andrew Kinzy Unleash Gonk!

All hail the Grub Lord! Fixed Temple Toys (@fixedtempletoys) and Andrew Kinzy (@andrewkinzy) have cooked up a wonderfully weird new creature named Gonk, and this crowned pile of grubs looks ready to take over the Glorble universe.

Gonk is the first in a planned series of Plasmoid Mutations, born from a drawing passed back and forth between the two artists before it became a physical resin figure. The result is a delightfully oddball character with a crown and a collection of little grubby companions... just the sort of royal court we can get behind!

The prototype is cast in nine separate resin pieces. Two grubs on top have a springy movement, while the rear-facing grub and crown attach magnetically. Fixed Temple Toys has also shared experiments inspired by the satisfying squish of a whack-a-mole game, giving collectors a peek at the hands-on tinkering behind the sculpt.
