Famous Chunkies Go From Illustration to Designer Toys… new from artist Alex Solis!
The Famous Chunkies concept from artist Alex Solis (OddWorx) has officially jumped off the screen and into the world of designer toys, and honestly… this translation works so well. If you’re familiar with the project, you already know the idea is both funny and smart. Alex took iconic pop culture characters and reimagined them as chunky, out-of-shape versions of themselves, poking fun at how cartoons often show characters living on junk food while somehow staying athletic and unstoppable. Once you see it, you can’t unsee it.
What started as a single illustration turned into a full series that’s been featured all over the world, and now collectors can finally own the entire lineup in physical form. These Famous Chunkies Blind Box figures are made as heavy resin designer toys, averaging about 3.5" tall, and you can tell right away these aren’t lightweight throwaways. They’ve got a solid feel, clean sculpting, and that unmistakable Chunkies charm that makes each character instantly recognizable.
The release is limited to 100 total sets, with 6 different figures in the standard lineup. On top of that, there are 2 super rare electroplated chase figures, randomly inserted at a ratio of 1 out of 20 boxes. If you pull a rare, either Donald or MFDOOM will be swapped out in full sets, which is a nice collector-friendly touch. For those who don’t like gambling with blind boxes, there’s also a limited Pick-Your-Own release, available Nov 28th until sold out, though that option does not include any rares. There was also a Vincent exclusive available at Designer Con 2025, but that one is already completely sold out.
I think what really makes this release stand out is how well the original message still comes through… it’s playful, a little sarcastic, and oddly thoughtful, all wrapped up in super fun character designs. Whether you’re into blind boxes, pop culture flips, or just want something different on your shelf, this is a solid release worth checking out... and Alex's illustrated work really is brought to life into the 3D realm with this drop, like all his releases!
