WHAT'S NEW

Twinkle Buddy Returns… Squink’s “Brick Red – Original Version” Lights Up the Scene!

Okay… this is seriously rad. UK-based artist Squink just dropped info the latest evolution of his quirky, hauntingly adorable creation — the Mk 2.0 Twinkle Buddy (Tracks) in the Brick Red – Original colorway. This new resin art piece is the kind of release that makes collectors’ hearts skip a beat. Handcrafted and hand-painted with that classic Squink touch, this version even features a built-in flickering LED light that glows softly beneath its fragile dome… giving the whole thing a mysterious, soulful vibe that feels straight out of a long-lost sci-fi relic.
According to the lore, this little guy was rediscovered in the Alloy Steel Works of Sheffield, England and formally archived by the mysterious Killsad Corporation. Originally designed as a domestic companion unit, this Mk 2.0 has outlived its original purpose and continued to operate autonomously — caring for no one but itself. I think that’s such a beautiful, eerie touch… kind of gives it a “sad robot still holding on” energy.
Standing about 3.8" tall (including its dome) and packaged in a 6x5" magnetic box, the Twinkle Buddy comes loaded with all kinds of intricate parts — a skull dome, utility satchel, lubrication tubes, Powr Pal unit, even a signed and stamped archivist certificate. Every piece is meticulously built from hand-sculpted molds — no 3D printing here! — and finished with pigment powders, inks, and Squink’s signature Japanese Mr. Hobby matte clear coat. It’s an absolutely beautiful example of craftsmanship and storytelling blending together.
This new Brick Red Original version drops October 16th, 2025 at 8PM BST over at squink.bigcartel.com - If you want a closer look, check out @squink on Instagram for an unboxing video — trust me, the way that LED light flickers under that dome is pure magic. I think this design is seriously cool — eerie, charming, and nostalgic all at once. How cool is this?!?!
