I absolutely LOVE the work of
Nathan Ota! From his paintings and prints to the limited number of figures he has made... his dark and engaging work is something that really strikes a chord in me, and I can only assume he does the same for so many others out there. That being said, Nathan Ota is teaming up
La Luz de Jesus Gallery to release and sign his new book "
Ikiru", this Friday, September 13th... and wants you to join him! This book is a full overview of Ota's work from his early street art to illustrations and gallery pieces to recent collaborations. Ota has gained a following over the last twenty years for his prolific work in a variety of expressions and media. The surrealist world he creates is one of streaked green skies, off-color hues and dripping paint... a world reliant on recurring figures such as a blind bird in a striped dunce hat, a gelatinous robot lost in the woods, and an egg sprouting up protruding tree branches. Join Nathan this Friday from 7pm-10pm... it will be an awesome event!
