GUERS Builds The Colony... Zine’s Beaver Mascot Debuts In 'Mocha' And 'Obsidian' Editions!

Here we go... a brand new mascot is stepping into the designer toy world, and this little builder has some serious personality! Montreal-based artist Zine is introducing GUERS, a stylized cartoon beaver collectible that kicks off with the first series titled The Colony. Rather than creating a brand new character for every release, Zine wanted to build around one core mascot that could be reimagined through different colorways over time. Think of that familiar collector rhythm where one strong character becomes the canvas, and each edition adds a new layer to the story. For GUERS, that character is a rounded, wide-eyed beaver with buck teeth, white glove-like hands, a soft body shape, and a whole lot of shelf presence.

The first release, The Colony, takes its name from the way beavers naturally live in colonies, tying the concept back to the idea of community and a tight-knit group of collectors. It is also a personal symbol for Zine, who chose the beaver because of its connection to Canada, the country that gave him a new life. Beyond that, the beaver felt like the right fit because it is a builder, a hustler, and an animal constantly shaping its own environment... which lines up perfectly with a project about starting over and building something from scratch.

Launching October 10th, 2026, The Colony will debut with two editions: Mocha and Obsidian. Each piece stands 11" tall, is hand-cast and hand-painted resin, and will be limited to 50 numbered pieces per edition. Each figure will retail for $229 USD, and the packaging will also be numbered to match the figure number, which is a rad extra touch for collectors who love the full presentation.

GUERS is currently in production, with packaging being printed and the remaining figures being hand-painted. The waitlist has already hit 50 people, so it looks like this little beaver colony is starting to grow before the official launch even happens.
