John Kenn Mortensen × Unbox Industries‘s “Cannibal Trolls” Coming Soon!

Macabre artist John Kenn Mortensen specializes in original illustrations that mingle the aesthetics of Germanic fairy tale pictures with the art of Edward Gorey, creating a uniquely fantastical — though dark — world for Mortensen‘s evolving characters to dwell. After partnering with Unbox Industries to transform his “Three Witches” design into a vinyl sculpture, it appears that Mortensen is returning to Unbox for a second creature, as teased above in the initial 3D render of the head. With those memorable pointed ears and bulbous hooked nose, I suspect that the creature in question is one of Mortensen’s “Cannibal Trolls” – a single example of which is pictured below. Anticipated for release at Halloween this year, we're eager to see if this finished piece will incorporate a child character accessory and, perhaps, even a enlarged cage in which to place the young meat.
