Small Guardians, Big Mythology... MAON CULT Introduces Hōin Dōji’s Six Jizo World!

A little guardian with a whole world behind it... Hōin Dōji brings MAON CULT’s storytelling into Japanese soft vinyl. The project draws from the Six Jizo, reworking that inspiration into youthful guardians within the artist’s own mythology.

Rather than reproduce a traditional religious statue, MAON imagines a young ascetic carrying profound vows. Six spiritual-beast aspects connect the design to the Six Perfections: Dragon, Listener, Garuda, Wild Boar, White Elephant, and Ox. Together, they give this small character a narrative that reaches well beyond its shelf footprint.

The restrained, childlike figure shown in the preview offers an interesting counterpoint to that ambitious backstory. It is the sort of piece that invites a closer look... then sends you back to the artist’s full concept writeup to connect the details.

Listed for October 2026, Hōin Dōji stands approximately 5.9" (15cm) tall and is offered as a limited lottery edition at NT$3,000. MAON says each hand-painted piece is unique, with lottery results sent individually by email. The official page lists lottery/reservation entry as open; consult its entry link for current terms, availability, and shipping arrangements.
