May Ann Licudine’s "Babu" Gets a Custom 2PetalRose Figure!

Artist Shardula has reimagined a 2PetalRose toy as Babu, an original character created by the artist. The custom figure turns a familiar art-toy base into a distinctly personal character, pairing a carefully painted face with a layered outfit that gives Babu a strong, storybook presence.

In the reveal, Babu wears tousled dark hair with cool lavender highlights, expressive painted eyes, and a richly patterned wrap-style jacket. A dark sash draws the layers together above a green pleated skirt, with small accessories and painted details completing the look. The contrast between the intricate clothing and the compact toy scale gives the piece the feel of a miniature character portrait... absolutley stunning!

Shardula describes the work as a custom #2petalrose toy made into Babu for a client, and credits Licudine as the character’s creator. The result is a collaboration between the original character design and Shardula’s figure customization, keeping the piece anchored in Licudine’s world while giving it a new physical interpretation.

The post also teases Noya as Babu’s special friend, with more pictures and a video promised soon. That small note opens a window onto a wider character world without making claims about a commercial release: the announcement presents Babu as a commissioned custom, and does not list a public sale, edition size, price, or materials.

For collectors who follow artist customs, Babu is a close-up example of how a toy base can become a recognizable character through paint, costume, and thoughtful presentation. Follow Shardula for any follow-up images or character updates.
