Godzilla Meets EVA... Kaiju One’s “G” Awakening Form Goes Retro Sofubi!

What happens when Godzilla’s G-cells get mixed into Evangelion Unit-01? Apparently, you get a wonderfully chunky shelf monster! Kaiju One is bringing the RetroSofubi Evangelion Test Type-01 “G” Awakening Form to collectors, and this crossover has quite a silhouette. The purple armor, rough black monster skin and fluorescent green accents immediately connect the two worlds, while the rounded proportions give the whole creature that classic soft-vinyl personality. Released by PLEX, this officially licensed Godzilla and Evangelion mashup takes a wonderfully strange premise and turns it into something that looks ready to stomp straight across your display. Preorders are now open, with separate regional offers from the maker and Hakaba Gallery.
The concept comes from the Godzilla vs. Evangelion crossover, which began in 2016, imagining what might happen if Godzilla’s cells invaded the EVA. Kaiju One leans into the contrast between armored machine and mutated monster: recognizable Unit-01 purple gives way to black, textured surfaces, while those green dorsal fins make the hybrid readable from across the room. It is a particularly fun treatment for collectors who enjoy seeing familiar screen characters reinterpreted through retro toy proportions.
The figure measures approximately 26 cm tall in its crouched pose, with Hakaba also listing an approximately 30 cm overall length. The maker identifies the material as soft vinyl / sofubi, while PLEX specifies PVC. Kaiju One confirms movement at the hands, legs and head, adding some display flexibility to that compact, monster-like stance. The official photographs shown here depict a prototype, so the finished production figure may differ.
For collectors in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Thailand, Kaiju One’s own preorder listing is US$245, with shipping listed at US$10 to Hong Kong and US$20 to Taiwan or Thailand. The maker explicitly limits this offer to those three destinations because of licensing restrictions. Its stated preorder deadline is November 23, 2026, subject to earlier closure, and its listed delivery commitment is no later than the end of May 2027. Payments are nonrefundable under the shop’s stated terms.
Hakaba’s separate Japanese offer is ¥38,500 including tax. Its online-only preorder period runs from October 29 at 11 a.m. JST through November 23 at 11:59 p.m. JST, with the closing time corresponding to November 23 at 6:59 a.m. PST. Hakaba schedules dispatch to begin July 30, 2027. These are the terms of the respective stores, so use the listing that serves your destination and check its shipping arrangements before ordering.
There is plenty to enjoy here, from the collision of those familiar colors to the way a towering screen monster becomes such a compact, expressive vinyl creature. Visit Kaiju One’s regional preorder page or Hakaba’s dedicated online sales section for the applicable offer and ordering details. This is one gloriously strange meeting of monsters and machines!
