Billiken Shokai’s “Return of Ultraman” Rises Again After 15 Years as a Premium Painted Soft Vinyl Masterpiece!

After 15 years in the vault, a true sofubi grail is finally making its comeback. Toyverse Inc. has officially announced pre-orders for the third entry in the Billiken Shokai Premium Complete Series: Premium Painted Finished Version line with the long-awaited return of Return of Ultraman. Originally released by Billiken Shokai in 2005, this soft vinyl kit quickly became a fan-favorite thanks to the refined sculpt by Hama Hayao. However, in 2011 the original mold was damaged, effectively halting production and turning the piece into a phantom release that has been out of print for 15 years. Now, after unearthing the original model, Toyverse has created an entirely new mold to bring this classic back to life—this time as a fully painted, finished version. The sculpt remains true to Hama Hayao’s highly refined original, but the coloring has been updated to deliver a finish with presence and detail closer to the actual suit. The result feels less like a kit and more like a museum-quality display piece, while still honoring the DNA of classic Billiken soft vinyl.

This release marks the third installment in the Premium Complete Series, a line designed to reintroduce Billiken Shokai’s legendary unpainted kits as exquisitely finished display-ready figures. The series previously opened pre-orders for Alien Chiburu in November and Ultra Seven in December, with 2026 set to continue with a carefully curated lineup. From the third release onward, the brand has stated that each product will prioritize perfection and release timing over rigid scheduling. The previously announced Telesdon release has been postponed for further development.

Standing approximately 31.5cm tall (about 12.4 inches), this PVC soft vinyl figure is priced at ¥29,700 (tax included), which converts to approximately $198 USD depending on current exchange rates. Each piece includes one figure and a limited edition Billiken Shokai sticker, exclusive to customers who pre-order through the Toyverse online shop.
