"Rainforest Jura" by Sam Griffiths

About a month back now we posted up the first reveal of artist Sam Griffiths epic resin figure named "JURA" from Planet Domu... and at that time we had just seen the blank/DIY form of this cool figure... well today we are pleased to bring you the first painted version dubbed "Rainforest Jura". This version is a a one-off piece, painted for the upcoming 'Resin Toy Juried Show' at Toy Art Gallery which opens on June 10th. According to Sam, also included with this version will be two other one-of-a-kind pieces in different color schemes... with the next being "Ocean Jura". The fact that this figure stands only 5" tall, and has that amount on articulation and detail for a resin figure still blows me away, and seeing it painted up is seriously killer! For more on the history of Jura click HERE, and to read up on the backstory of "Rainforest Jura" be sure to hit the jump for a complete run down!

Rainforest Jura Back Story:
"Jura units were originally shuttled down to the surface of Planet Domu in order to sift through the ruins of bombarded villages, taking prisoners. Due to the turbulent journey and rocky landings, it is not uncommon for units to experience damaged circuitry. Rainforest Jura's programming has almost completely reversed. He now spends his days wandering the scorched villages and jungles of Planet Domu, doing his best to rebuild its structures and make friends with its inhabitants."

"Due to his lack of knowledge concerning local architecture and indigenous species, his efforts are more often than not misunderstood. Rebuilding structures in completely useless configurations and upsetting the wildlife. The sentient beings of Planet Domu have come to realise that he is doing his best to help and regard him as a harmless, if slightly irritating, part of living through a time of unrest. A far more preferable situation than it would have been, had his original programming remained intact!"
