Freakin' Ridiculous!!!

I found this video through a friend of mine and it blew my mind. At first you think "This has gotta be fake! When do they show us how they did the green screen work!?!" But then you realize that there are no strings here and the men doing this are insane. This clip comes from a film by MatchStick Productions called "Seven Sunny Days." The DVD is mainly about extreme skiing, but this is a section on Wingsuit Flying in Norway. Most people only dream of flying. These guys actually fly...

P.S. Yes, technically (for all you haters), they are gliding. I know this. But this is the closest thing man will come to flying. That is until... the Rocketeer becomes a reality. :P

Cartoon Network gets rebranded - Kidrobot style!

Cartoon Network's brand identity is inseparable from the identities of the countless interesting and lovable characters which inhabit the CN airwaves. The characters themselves are the brand and their collective power makes Cartoon Network what it is. With this redesign we had the opportunity to create an undeniably strong connection between the network and its content. Using one unifying body shape (designed by urban vinyl legends Kidrobot) we created an interchangeable system of elements that gathered all of CN's characters into one place. These blank figures, called Noods, are the canvases upon which characters of all shapes, sizes, and styles can coexist. The CN logo is also an extension of that vocabulary as the colors and patterns from the characters - their DNA - find their way onto the network's blocky logotype for the first time. The resulting world is a playground of rich colors and unlimited combinations, ownable only by Cartoon Network.

Air Force Ones - The “Big Money" by ST!ZO not MAD?

Well...they say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and if that is the case then ST!ZO nailed that saying on these custom kicks. I don't really know how this whole thing works, if Big Money/Modern Hero is copyrighted by MAD or what, but I am sure he has got to be pretty impressed himself by the talent this guy has!

From ST!ZO:
These shoes were commissioned by a big fan of artist/toy designer MAD L. The base shoe that was provided was an all black pair of Air Force Ones. The “Big Money" theme was requested, so gold accents were applied in addition to the pieces of the MAD L character collection as well as his tag ghosted throughout the design.

These are some truly amazing shoes, and the amount of effort put forth to nail down MAD's style is definitely apparent. What I can't understand is why this "Commissioned" artist did not contact MAD and have him do this for him instead! What are your thoughts on this?

The Lake Monster’s Big Muscamoot - First Pull!!!

Well it looks like everything is moving along super smooth for Chris Ryniak and the folks at Squibbles Ink + Rotofugi! The proof is in the pudding in this first picture of the "Big Muscamoot" in all of his vinyl goodness!

Chris
had this to say:
TLM001 Production report: First pulls of The Lake Monster’s Big Muscamoot figure have been made. If you happen to be in San Fransisco at Wondercon this weekend don’t miss the chance to see it in person. Barring of course any trouble with UPS & customs.

So, if you guys do happen to roll out to Wondercon this weekend, be sure to check this out in person, and maybe do me a huge favor and send some pics/love my way, since I will not be able to attend!
