Chips Ahoy... MEDICOM TOY’s VAG SPIRITS Puts a Digital Twist Inside Sofubi!

The next chapter of capsule sofubi comes with something extra inside! MEDICOM TOY is marking VAG’s fiftieth installment by introducing VAG SPIRITS, a new series with a smartphone-compatible SPIRIT CHIP built into the figures. A collection app and game are planned, with further details due from spring 2027. Series 1 opens with GIGIGU by PEEK A BOO TOY, whose three-eyed face leads this first look. The digital features are still a preview, so the exact app functions and gameplay remain to be announced... but how cool is that?!?!

Joining the lineup is Tomyo by hasuimo, bringing the illustrator’s ritual-object-inspired character into the VAG format. Each design is planned at approximately 2.36" tall.

CAPTAIN HENRY by JELLY ROGER adds a pirate ghost to the crew, while the fourth design is Toromi-kun by Masaki Sada. Four very different characters, one new chapter for the long-running capsule series.

VAG SPIRITS Series 1 is scheduled for March 2027, planned and manufactured by MEDICOM TOY and distributed by Prestige. Pricing has not been announced in the reveal, and the images show samples under supervision that may change before production... regardless, this is a super strong series!
