7Sketches Sends Sad Panda To Summer School With “Cruel Summer”!
School is back in session, and unfortunately for Sad Panda, summer vacation just got canceled! Derick Fabian of 7Sketches has officially released Sad Panda’s Cruel Summer, the third drop in his ongoing Sad Panda: The Cosplay Panda Series, and this little dude is feeling the sting of books, homework, and a summer spent indoors.
The Sad Panda series follows a panda who hides behind different cosplay personas to mask his permanent sad expression, with each release revealing another chapter in his life. After Spider-Panda and Charlie Panda, this newest chapter sees Sad Panda suited up as a summer school student after finding out that his break is not going to be filled with beach days, late mornings, or any kind of fun at all. Instead, it’s books, classrooms, and that dreaded “Good Morning” chalkboard energy.
Standing 4.5" tall, Sad Panda’s Cruel Summer is made of resin and limited to just 25 pieces worldwide. Each figure is individually hand-numbered, and the release comes packaged as a full collector experience with a matching hand-numbered collector box, collectible card, and die-cut sticker. The figure itself features a big round head, mismatched colorful eyes, a bandage detail, little school outfit, and an expression that says, “I was supposed to be on vacation.”
Concept and design come from 7Sketches, production partner duties were handled by From the Heart, digital sculpt by Oasim Karmieh, and manufacturing by RLUX. Inspired by Takashi Murakami, this release brings together bright character design, emotional storytelling, and that collector-friendly presentation that makes small edition resin drops feel extra special.
Sad Panda’s Cruel Summer is available now through the 7Sketches shop for $160. Limited to 25 pieces worldwide, this one is a fun, bittersweet, and totally relatable addition to the Sad Panda universe… because honestly, who wouldn’t be sad about summer school?
