Fantastic Buddies Take Stop-Motion to Squawk City — Now on Kickstarter!
Say hello to Noah and Sebastien — two everyday dudes from the suburbs of Squawk City who somehow end up in the wackiest situations imaginable. Toss in a pet cow named Susan and you’ve got Fantastic Buddies, a new stop-motion comedy series from Jim Scannell and Hart Houston of Kevin’z Bacon/Sally Studios.... for me, think bootleg 1980's tv sitcom figures - yeah, these are alot of fun!
The show takes its cues from 80s and 90s kids’ TV, mixing goofy lessons with grown-up humor. They’ve already got three episodes ready to roll — including a rap about U.S. capitals, a guide to passive-aggressive behavior, and a full-length story where an old friend crashes back into Sebastien’s life. It’s weird, it’s heartfelt, and it’s exactly the kind of janky-but-charming stop-motion you can’t help but root for.
Now the creators are turning to Kickstarter to raise $1,000 to fund three brand-new episodes. Backers can snag some rad rewards too: comics, shirts, posters, and even resin minis of the Buddies themselves.
If you’re into stop-motion, indie comedy, or just want to see what happens when two “fantastic” pals take on the suburbs one adventure at a time, head over and back the project: Fantastic Buddies on Kickstarter.
