WHAT'S NEW

What if Tim Biskup's "Helper" was a translucent jellyfish-esque monstrosity?

If you are a toy collector and you haven't heard the name Jeremy Mauney before, then don't be surprised… the above pictured "Hydrozoid" concept illustration will be his very first produced piece. Unfortunately it is also his first Kickstarter campaign, so forgive him that the video — while sincere and humorous — is a bit long and that the meat of the information regarding the release is buried far down in the description. His neo-kaiju creation looks to be loosely inspired by Tim Biskup's "Helper" figure, though the multi-tentacled beast is unique in its proposed execution: a combination of translucent yellow-green vinyl for the upper half and solid 'lava' colored vinyl for the lower half and spine, the upper element allowing you to see the creature's spine reaching up toward its head. A very cool concept, this 4-inch tall soft Japanese vinyl beast is only $45 apiece in the described standard colorway with a to-be-decided limited color variant costing $75 apiece — and that $30 price difference better result in some all out differences, like glow-in-the-dark and glitter-infused vinyl. Check out his Kickstarter campaign now and help this first timer make his vision a three-dimensional reality!
