*RECAP* “11/10″ The retrospective art show of Huck Gee @ Toy Art Gallery

Huck Gee's awesome art retrospective launched this past Thursday, November 10th, 2011 which was a culmination of all his past works packed into a 3-Day only event which was hosted at Toy Art Gallery. Unfortunately, because it was a 'school night' I was unable to attend the opening event, but fellow San Diegan Jose Reynoso aka The Gumpy made his way up to LA for the event and he passed along all the photos you see in this post... some great ones at that! And now for a little background about the show... it's titled “11/10″ for good reason! Through the years Huck has created original and awe inspiring 3D figures which sell out almost immediately through his website. He creates these unique and lovable characters in sets of 10, each individually numbered. But what nobody knew is that for each set of 10 figures he made, he also made one more and numbered it “11/10″. For the first time ever, every 11/10 piece will be on display and be available for sale, almost 50 pieces in total... pretty amazing right?!?!

Well all the fans that showed up for the show were definitely not disappointed, as not only did it feature all the 11/10 figures, but Huck also went hog wild... or should I say elephant wild... as he created a whole herd of custom, hand-sculpted and hand-rotocast elephants... which greeted all those immediately as they entered the showroom! These are truly amazing pieces of work, and each one came complete with custom riders. On top of all the rad customs, this show marked the pre-release of Huck’s first full length art book “The Art of Huck Gee” as well as an extremely limited “Kabuki and Kitsune” Dunny 2-Pack inspired by Huck Gee’s Gold Life Dunny Series... oh and TAG went all out and created a MASSIVE 4' wide fiberglass "Skullhead" centerpiece... so cool!!! For those of us who were unable to attend, TAG has all the works up for sale right now HERE... but go now because they are selling like hotcakes! Also, be sure to hit the jump for more photos from the event!
