LUNKHEAD BOB LEAPS OFF THE SKETCHBOOK AND INTO THE DESIGNER TOY WORLD!

You know we love seeing a character make that jump from a doodle on paper to an actual toy you can put on the shelf... and Lunkhead Bob is officially making the leap! Created by DR Toys (Dave Russell), Lunkhead Bob is a lanky, blue-skinned misfit with ridiculously long arms, skinny jeans, classic black kicks and a face that looks like he’s already planning something he probably shouldn’t be doing.

Bob started life in the sketchbook, but after a whole lot of designing, sculpting, prototyping and tweaking, he has finally been transformed into a full-fledged designer toy... and now he needs a little help getting across the production finish line through Kickstarter.

One of the coolest parts of the project is just how much personality can be packed into this weird little dude. Campaign photos show Bob hanging with a skateboard, spray can, gnarly spiked bat and even a busted bottle... each accessory fitting perfectly into the punk, skate and street-art world surrounding the character. There are even some killer Lunkhead character art cards being shown alongside the figure.

And judging by the prototype photos, Bob isn’t some tiny desk toy either. This dude has some serious presence, with that exaggerated hunched stance and ridiculously long arms making the silhouette instantly recognizable.

Seeing an independent artist take an original character all the way from old sketchbook drawings to a production-ready collectible is exactly the kind of thing Kickstarter was made for. If Lunkhead Bob looks like he belongs on your shelf, head over to the Lunkhead Bob: From Sketchbook to Designer Toy Kickstarter campaign and help DR Toys get this lanky troublemaker into production.
