WHAT'S NEW

Introducing the Irikanji, 20 years in the making!

Over the last 20 years, Australian street artist Facter has been evolving his own plethora of fantastical creatures on the wall & canvas paintings as well as through illustrations in his blackbooks. And as these beasts took form, a world evolved around them, a post-singularity apocalyptic realm called "The Known". And its inhabitants, collectively called the "Irikanji", are finally evolving from the two-dimensional into resin cast sculptural forms! For this initial outing, there's the rabbit-eared "Joeji" and its cousin, the horned "Vikanji", the shrugging "Kanjiroo", and the two bubble-eyed beasts, the "Minji" and its big brother, the "Bomji". Ranging in size from 5½cm (2⅕ in.) to 11cm (4⅓ in.), each form is slightly unique but still limited overall to between 20 and 50 pieces, with prices running the gamot of $25 to $75. With the first limited editions of "Irikanji" making their debut at booth A19 at the Taipei Toy Festival in October 2017, Facter will be bringing along something extra special as well…
Facter also asked an array of prominent Melbourne artists to hand-paint an "Irikanji" figure, the results of which are pictured below. Featured in this "artist series" will be one-of-a-kind works by Ohnoes, Crisis, Unwell Bunny, Ruskidd, ADi, MIT, DNart, Julia Both, Tinkysonntag, Keo Match, Conrad Bizjak, Junky Projects, S701a, Pimpisa Tinpalit, GT Sewell, Ben Frost, Kenz, Jack Douglas, and Frosk. Seems like a smart way to kick off the next evolution of Facter's world, don't you think?
