KAWS's "Dissected Companion" design has been translated into a variety of vinyl sizes, from the 2-inch tall keychain version to the 'standard' 15-inch tall rendition to the massive 48-inch tall one, but now — if the supposition is correct — we're finally going to get a mid-sized 8-inch tall edition. The roughly 8-inch tall version has been cycling around in bootleg form for a while, but it now looks like we'll be getting an official release of it! The artist himself teased the above picture on his Instagram, showing the immediately recognizable "Dissected Companion" figure inside brand new packaging along with the note "Open Edition," meaning there will be no guarantee of limitation and more copies can be made at any time. It appears this will debut, alongside the "
BFF (Black Edition)," at the
Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth exhibition, which will open on October 20th. Fantastic news for art toy collectors, this might just herald in a new age of KAWS vinyl figure productions!
