Kozyndan × Munky King's "Uprisings" Returns at SDCC2016!

In 2003, the artist duo of Kozyndan created "Uprisings" (pictured below) for the cover of Giant Robot Magazine #28. A play on Hokusai's "Great Wave off Kanagawa" woodblock print, this brilliant design was transformed into a three-dimensional sculpture by Munky King first in resin (2009) and then vinyl (2010). Standing 9½-inches tall, the last version of this Pretty in Plastic sculpted work were released in 2012. But now we can add 2016 to the list of dates, as it returns at this year's San Diego Comic-Con!

Able to be displayed as a stand-alone sculpture or used as a bookend, this appears to be a true re-release of the original version: featuring metallic blue water and pearlescent white bunnies cresting off the top of the wave. No word on edition size (the original was limited to 400 pieces) or price (original: $70 apiece), but one can swing by Munky King's SDCC Booth #4851 to find out. Not able to make the con?
