Jessica Joslin's Stunning Circus Bird for 'Decade-1' @ Varnish Fine Art 4/20!

Jessica Joslin has just put the final, tedious touches on her newest masterstroke of brass and bone: a circus bird, bound for Varnish Fine Art's 10th anniversary group show, Decade-1. Teetering precariously on an old circus ball, the grand tail feathers and tiny wings of our ornately feathered friend seem to present more of a balancing obstacle than aid. An assemblage of precious discards uncovered in antique and taxidermy supply shops, flea markets and wherever she happens to find herself, Joslin's creatures are an arresting blend of elegance and superior craftsmanship with the fantastical and strange. A number of new and returning artists will also be showing alongside Joslin to celebrate Varnish's first decade.
