The Given's Mickey Mouse for the Play Imaginative x Disney custom show!

"The House of Mouse" is The Given's contribution to the upcoming Play Imaginative x Disney custom Mickey Mouse group show. The execution of this piece is pristine; I think I spot one or two places that brush strokes snuck into the drying, but that's such a minor oversight… the shape definition is sharp and smooth, the color choices completely classic. The sculpt on the helmet, bullets, grenades, and bandolier all look immaculate, but the overall design does throw me a bit. All the sculpted areas are typically Vietnam War era but the lightning bolt (which is The Given's trademark logo) screams '70's rock star when placed over the eye… I just think it would've been more advantageous to hide that element a little more. But, that's a personal choice and, as I said, the actual workmanship is nearly without fault.
