WHAT'S NEW

Paul Jackson's "Darwin's Revenge" Coming from Mighty Jaxx!

For their April 13th, 2016 show in Jacksonville, Florida, illustrator Paul Jackson created a design he dubbed "Darwin's Revenge" for Pearl Jam's concert poster. Inspired, according to Jackson, on "a kitsch 1950s Sci-Fi comic book cover", this piece depicted "[Charles] Darwin inside a giant robot ape which seems to have had its head ripped off..." And this is a story built upon on the back side of the screen-printed posters, which read: "Darwin had to ressurect [sic] himself using a 3D printing machine that his spirit built. This is all prior to building a giant ape space ship..." Putting the herald of evolution into a robotic head made to resemble the very primates he claimed humans were not-to-distant relatives of, we found this to be a truly impressive and memorable piece. And we're not the only ones who thought so, as Mighty Jaxx tapped the artist to make a sculptural rendition of this!
Standing roughly 6-inches tall, this polystone resin figure features a removable gorilla face plate that can be pried open to reveal Charles Darwin strapped into the cockpit! Limited to only 100 pieces worldwide, these will be available on August 5th, 2017 in the Mighty Jaxx store for $120 apiece, and we're asuming the release time will be either 7am or 8am Pacific time based on recent activity.
