*RECAP* "Contemporary Figurative Modifications" group show @ Toy Art Gallery 4/02/2011

Last night showcased the opening of Toy Art Galleries 5-man group show titled "Contemporary Figurative Modifications" which featured new works by Bob Conge of Plaseebo, Brent Nolasco, Leecifer, TaskOne, and NERVISWR3K. Upon walking into the gallery, I was instantly blown away by the setup, it was clean, professional, and showcased each artists work in a fantastic manner. One of the main attractions, that was in fact the center piece for the sho,w was the awesome 20" "Qee-Therdral" created by TaskOne where he was actually painting the stain glass on the windows as gallery patrons walked in... this was actually a pretty cool experience for most as they could appreciate the fine attention to detail that covered this massive piece... and wow did it look nice.

Another great thing about this show is the effort put forth by both TaskOne and Leecifer to drive down from San Francisco to be there for the opening! They had on display tons of great custom vinyl figures, in the form of monsters, cute characters, LED encased resin, origional sculpted pieces, as well as some traditional pieces by both Brent Nolasco and Leecifer. Toy scene notables such as Ritzy Periwinkle, Sket-One, Luke Chueh, and kaNO came out as well, to see all the great customs and to show their support! One of the really great things that we saw were the patented "Sold" red dots popping up all throughout the gallery... but there are still some pieces still available, and should be up in the TAG online store HERE very soon! In the meantime, hit the jump to view a full photo slide show from this event, and also enjoy the above video.
