This website is about any and everything that sparks the creative genius in all of us. By profession I am a Graphic Designer, and enjoy all aspects of design. From traditional to urban from resin to vinyl, these are all great mediums and deserve to be explored. On top of that everything from music to movies from guns to graffiti.
Shane Jessup's work is well know through the vinyl/art scene and now he is reaching out through The Poster Cause to try to help make a difference in a charity of his choice. If you follow Shane on Twitter you know that his dog Cortez is super special to him, that is why he chose to donate 50% OF PROFITS to benefit BAD RAP (Bay Area Doglovers Responsible About Pitbulls). His print titled "KING OF HEARTS" features I assume his dog, and is limited to only 25 pieces, it measures 11x17 and for sale HERE on February 15TH, 2010 for $25 a piece!
Suppose you got some piece that’s got more sculpting and modeling on it than the Death Star. What’s it all mean if its in a boring monotone finish? Well that is why today Lief from Delicious Drips, is going to take some video to show you some techniques for doing a color wash. In case you missed the last tutorial on Dry Brushing techniques, these two effects combined can make for a fantastic palette with a lot of detailed rendering. In this six-minute tutorial, Lily Black teaches you how to do a wash simple and sexy using a Toy2r Doggy Qee.
According to a tweet from Joe Ledbetter’s account he stated that his special colorway Death Metal "Terror and Magnus"are going to release this Friday, January 15th. These are being released through The Loyal Subjects, and are limited to 199 pieces worldwide for only $115. Just like the majority of Ledbetter's figures this has already been released in a few other colorways, and now the monotone style is set to rein on all other versions with its awesome blood splatters. Terror measures a whopping 8" while Magnus is a meek 3" but trust me, his bite is larger than his bark, hehehe! Look for these in the Loyal Subjects web shop at noon 1/15/10.
Now in its 6th year, this revolutionary art tour kicks off 2010 in Los Angeles. This Scion tour focuses on the video medium, which emerged in the 1960s and has since expanded galleries into more experimental, kinetic and interactive spaces. “Installation 6: Video” challenged 10 artists to create non-narrative video installations that will eventually transform five unique exhibitions around the country.
DrilOne has been a busy little beaver the past few weeks, as the deadline for the "It came From Skullbrain 2" show at Super 7 SF drew near to it's deadline date to get figure completed, he was still on Christmas vacation... but who needs sleep anyways? He pumped out these 4 figures in like what seemed to be a day, and they are all set to go for the show on January 16th, at 7pm. These really all turned out amazing, I do like the homage to Star Wars, but my favorite has to be the GatorBoy, so sick!!!

Tam aka Okedoki recently finished up a labbit custom for a very nice collector. The little guy's name is Puck, and he likes broccoli and candy, but not in that order. She used some sculpey, glass eyes, and a labbit, to create such an awesome custom. Tam goes into detail about how she came up with the figure, she says "I was asked to do a labbit custom. I played with many design ideas, but for some time I wanted to do a pug (I used to have a pug and I really missed him). I wanted a larger head, so used the rear end and reversed the head to the back, the legs had to be moved a bit back as well." She lso was going for a more realistic look for this custom as you can tell by the current paint job, the sweater is an awesome finishing touch!
Ashley Wood, just completed a new painting titled "the 7", which turned out amazing! I absolutely love the Berties in a line with the Nom de Plume out front... so great! Hit up Ashley's blog HERE to see some WIP pics as well as another painting he is working on!

Many of the artists will be in attendance at the opening reception to discuss their work. Curated by John Wong. The event last year was amazing... check out the pieces from that event HERE!

So... what then of 26? Is its bad posture congenital? Or just teenage slackerism? A general lack of enthusiasm? Or the product of a rare gravitational instability that makes a straight back unsustainable? What of its feet? Or lack thereof? Are they pincers? Or are the feet just too small to see? Perhaps the creature has perfect size 10 feet, but is 800 feet tall? What's the story?
What is a pirates favorite pattern to wear? ARRRRRRRGYLE, sorry, I just had to fit a pirate joke in there! Just on the tail of our original post HERE about Mist's newest figure in the dazzling yellow figure, he drops some news taht there will also be an alternate BLACK colorway of his upcoming "Lucius" figure from Artoyz Originals. Standing at 6" tall and is set to release in the next couple of weeks, you cann see the amount of articulation this piece has, as well as the little flame sidekick in the bottom picture! There is no word on price yet, but I will keep you up to date as soon as that info rolls in!
Paul Budnitz has been leaking little sneak peeks of upcoming projects (first from Jeremyville and then Brandt Peters) that are soon to be released through Kidrobot, and this time around it is another plush... but not plush from some average joe schmo... plush from Mr. Frank Kozik. It looks like Kidrobot is moving towards a few more plush figures this year, I personally think plush is great, and it is a cool way for artists to get their figures interpreted.
So I browse so many site, and I just happened upon this image of a little illustration, very inconspicuous I might add, and had to do a double take when I first saw it... but could tell right away what is was, and who it was designed by. From the looks of it Jon-Paul Kaiser is working with Strangekiss and David Lanham to get his own version of the upcoming designer figure "Fetch" Peet and Barnaby. Above is just the torso up shot from JPK on Peet, but where is Barnaby... really looking forwrd to seeing what he does with that. We actually saw this figure HERE first, and then HERE at SDCC09. Nothing is confirmed yet... but hopefully this comes to fruition!
