Sonic Gets the Fine Art Treatment with YOYOYO’s “Infinite Blue” Arita Porcelain Statue!

Sonic has been turned into just about every kind of collectible imaginable over the past 35 years... but this one is playing in an entirely different league. To celebrate Sonic the Hedgehog’s 35th anniversary, YOYOYO x SEGA have unveiled Sonic the Hedgehog Arita Porcelain “Infinite Blue,” an incredibly limited art piece combining one of gaming’s most recognizable characters with more than 400 years of Japanese porcelain craftsmanship.
Handcrafted by artisans in Arita, Japan, the piece transforms Sonic’s signature blue into an intricate mix of traditional cobalt patterns, including repeating waves and geometric motifs carefully applied across his head and body. Sonic races above a sweeping reddish-orange porcelain base decorated with equally intricate white pattern work. The production photos really drive home what makes this release special, showing the raw porcelain pieces, kiln fiƒring and artisans hand-painting the incredibly detailed surface decoration. This is much closer to a fine-art porcelain piece than your typical licensed Sonic statue.
“Infinite Blue” measures approximately 6.1" wide x 9" deep x 8.4" tall and includes the porcelain figure, display stand, Certificate of Authenticity and wooden presentation box. Only 50 individually numbered pieces will be produced worldwide. And now we know the price... $7,000 USD before shipping, duties and taxes. For U.S. collectors, YOYOYO currently estimates insured shipping at $410-$480, with an estimated 12.5% duty. Those additional costs are collected at checkout... a true piece of art for those SEGA/SONIC collectors out there.
The first-round lottery opens October 9, 2026 at 10:00 AM JST and closes October 18 at 11:59 PM JST. That works out to October 8 at 6:00 PM PDT through October 18 at 7:59 AM PDT for West Coast collectors. Entry is free, limited to one entry per person, and you only pay if selected. Winners will begin receiving emails in late October and will have seven days to complete their purchase. Those not selected during the first round will automatically move into the second-round drawing.
Each piece is made to order, with delivery taking up to approximately 10 months after the order period closes. Seven grand certainly puts this into serious grail territory... but between the tiny edition, handcrafted Arita porcelain construction and absolutely insane amount of detail, Infinite Blue may be one of the most ambitious Sonic collectibles produced for his 35th anniversary. Lottery entry will be available through the YOYOYO Official Store beginning October 9 JST.
