Doktor A Goes Cryptid Hunting with Copper Creeps Cryptids Wave 1!

Doktor A is digging into the wonderfully weird world of cryptids and unexplained encounters with the latest evolution of his Copper Creeps series... and Wave One kicks things off with two seriously strange characters. The Copper Creeps Cryptids series turns legendary creatures and mysterious encounters into robotic creations through Doktor A’s unmistakable retro-futuristic lens. For the first wave, he has taken on the Flatwoods Monster and the Pascagoula Entity, two bizarre pieces of American high-strangeness lore that feel almost tailor-made for the mechanical Copper Creeps universe.

First up is the Flatwoods Monster, inspired by the strange 1952 encounter in Braxton County, West Virginia. The creature became famous for its glowing red eyes, imposing hooded silhouette and appearance through a cloud of foul-smelling mist. Doktor A’s version translates that instantly recognizable shape into a sleek, riveted robotic form standing 5" tall.

Then things get even weirder with the Pascagoula Entity. Based on the infamous 1973 Pascagoula, Mississippi encounter involving two fishermen and a group of bizarre wrinkled, seemingly faceless beings, Doktor A’s mechanical interpretation comes in at a chunky 3" tall. The bulbous form, strange protrusions and industrial detailing make this one look like it rolled straight out of some forgotten sci-fi serial.

Both figures are sculpted traditionally by Doktor A before being reproduced in cold-cast metal resin using real powdered metal, giving them that convincing polished pewter finish. Each piece is completely handmade in England, signed on the underside by the artist and individually boxed with a copper foil label.

These are open editions priced at £50 each and are currently cast to order. Production adds approximately 10 to 14 days before shipping, although pieces already in stock may ship immediately. Tracked worldwide shipping is available. I’ve always dug the mechanical personality Doktor A brings to his work, and throwing cryptids, UFO encounters and unexplained weirdness into the mix feels like a natural next step. The fact that this is only Wave One has me especially curious... because there is definitely no shortage of strange creatures out there waiting to get the Copper Creeps treatment. The Copper Creeps Cryptids Wave One Pewter Resin Figures are available now through the Mechtorians shop.
