REVIEW/UNBOXING - CHIBI “FRANK” DIY Is Coming to DCon Vegas… Rock Ink Toys Drops an Artist-Ready Resin Monster!

Jim over at Rock Ink Toys is bringing something fun to DesignerCon Las Vegas, and customizers are going to want to keep this one on their radar. Meet the new CHIBI “FRANK” resin, a chunky 4" solid resin monster that is coming in both White and Clear versions. This little creature has a ton of charm packed into a small but weighty sculpt. CHIBI “FRANK” has big horns, raised brows, chunky little feet, and that perfect blank-platform expression that feels like it is just begging to be customized. It is cute, weird, and monster-y in all the right ways.
Each piece comes raw, sanded, and primed, making it truly artist ready right out of the gate. These were clearly made with customizers in mind, and the shape gives artists a lot of room to play. The white version feels like a clean canvas, while the clear version has that frosty translucent look that already has serious shelf appeal before a drop of paint ever touches it. The pricing is also super approachable, with the White version at $30 and the Clear version at $35. For a 4" solid resin piece weighing around 1lb, that is a really solid price point for artists looking for a new custom platform, collectors who love raw resin, or anyone who wants to support an indie toy maker doing something fun.
CHIBI “FRANK” will be dropping at DCon Las Vegas, November 13th-15th. I do not have a booth number yet, but keep your eyes on Rock Ink Toys for updates. There is also an artist custom show planned for early 2027, so it looks like this little monster is just getting started.
I just posted my full YouTube review showing off both versions, talking through the sculpt, size, weight, pricing, and why this release feels like such a great option for toy artists and collectors. Rock Ink Toys will also be giving away a white version through my Instagram, so stay tuned for that.
Also, Steph aka ART FREAK NY is debuting the resin on her YouTube channel as well, so go subscribe and check out her first reaction to this release. Drop a comment and let me know which version you would pick up… White or Clear.
