WHAT'S NEW

Yanran Chen’s “KeyA” Debuts at PTS Beijing…and Pop Mart Is Next!

At the 2025 Pop Toy Show Beijing, artist Yanran Chen officially unveiled her new IP, KeyA, and it’s a striking evolution of her signature mechanical-girl aesthetic. The debut featured two pieces, BlinkBot and BuddyGlow, blending sleek sci-fi forms, long fluid lines, and glossy bionic finishes that feel more like interstellar lifeforms than traditional “cute” collectibles.
What really grabbed me is how KeyA leans hard into futuristic storytelling. These figures feel alive… like they exist somewhere between machine, human, and cosmic traveler. It’s a bold step that pushes beyond familiar cyberpunk vibes and into something more experimental and narrative-driven.
Even more exciting, Yanran Chen has an upcoming collaboration with Pop Mart, with a KeyA series planned for 2026. This collection is shaping up to be a major shift for the brand, moving away from Pop Mart’s usual cute-forward look and into a more avant-garde, futuristic design language. I’m super curious to see how collectors react to that change, because it feels fresh and unexpected in the best way.
Between the PTS debut and the Pop Mart partnership on the horizon, KeyA feels like the start of something big. Definitely one to keep on your radar if you’re into sci-fi, mechanical aesthetics, and designer toys that actually take risks.
