Jason Limon × Martian Toys - “Abominable Snowcone” vinyl figure... behind the scenes!

Even though we showed off the finished “Abominable Snowcone” Vinyl Figure already HERE from Jason Limon and Martian Toys (their very first production figure)... we figured, why not show off some initial sculpts and the design process behind this, building up to the first initial release at NYCC 2015! So away we go... Jason sent over the sculpt turnarounds that he got from the factory to approve... and at this point, changes were sure to have been made. We find it very interesting that they used sand for the ice/snowcone texture, super odd, but works so well and saves on sculpting the entire thing by hand!

Standing just over 7" tall, the figure also includes a little Ice Cream truck... and you can see the sculpt of this little guy above... who is just 2" tall. The perfect companion piece... and you can pose the giant monster chasing after the truck... as seen in the original painting by Jason! We are really excited for this release, and for those attending NYCC 2015, you will have first chance at this figure in both the "Cherry" red and the "Blueberry" blue editions. Our next post... we will show off the wax sculpt that was created from the master sculpt... ready to make the mold!
