We saw the initial release of these "Tinder Toys" from Chicago-based artist and comic book author
Jeremy Tinder at SDCC 2011, and now the folks over at
Rotofugi are stoked to announce the official release of these quirky little characters. Launching on Friday, September 28 "
Clem","
Rabburt" and "
Boyger" all received the color treatment, and these - standing between 3" and 3.75" tall - figures will be available
at the party for $11.95 each. Designer Jeremy Tinder will be at the store signing for fans from 6
until 8pm, plus he'll have some reasonably priced art on hand to sell as well! If you can't make it to the launch party, all three figures will be available from
rotofugi.com and other designer toy retailers beginning Monday, October 1st at 11am Central Time.
Designed by Jeremy and sculpted by Josh Sutton at
ERA Sculpture, this cast of characters turned out really great. I dug them as
unpainted figures back in 2011... but seeing them in their full gusto painted glory... I am all in... plus, they are super reasonably priced! To me, these represent a breath of fresh air in the designer vinyl world, and although they might not be for everyone, I kinda have a feeling that if you give them time... they will grow on you. Who's your favorite? I'm a fan of "Rabburt"... just look at that mouth!
