Plaseebo's "The Misfits" series begins with "The Night Gamer Misfit"!

Bob "Plaseebo" Conge has been playing with the inclusion of LED lights within his kaiju creations for a wee bit now, so his newly announced "The Misfits" series seems like a logical next step. The 9-inch tall figure's body is resin cast and has an inner chamber filled with a mixture of slow moving gel colors and shapes illuminated from the back by a switched color changing LED unit that also lights the head. Conge is planning to release six of these custom made pieces over the next year, each one being one-of-a-kind and unique. The first one — "The Night Gamer Misfit," pictured above — will be released at Conge's solo show "this month at the Phillips Gallery in Rochester NY"; while not a lot of information to go on, I think this is a show at Phillips Fine Art & Frame (248 East Ave., Rochester, NY 14604‎, phone 585-232-8120), who do seem to participate in Rochester's First Friday Gallery Event… meaning the show would be opening on Friday, September 7th, 2012.

And, just to whet your appetite, here are some possible future additions to "The Misfits" line. Personally, I hope Conge doesn't only do six and then stop… I see this as a cool concept with a lot of room to grow and evolve!
