Naughty Brain's "Xuanzang" Urbanized Buddhist Monk Figure!

Inspired by the famous Journey to the West tale, toy artists Naughty Brain have unveiled the third piece in the "East to West" series, the pictured "Xuanzang (Golden Version)"! Using the Buddhist monk character from the original story as a basis, designers Jia Jun Liu & Ou Yan have given the figure a very urban feel through its angular body structure and even included Xuanzang's trusty white horse in the form of a cowl & cape. For those that know the tale, the white horse is Yulong, the third son of the Dragon King of the West Sea, who acts as Xuanzang's steed — and I love this twist of turning him into a helm & cloak, a twisted version of making the horse "ride" the master. Measuring roughly 10¼-inches in height, 4¾-inches in width, and 4½-inches in depth, this two-part resin figure is available to order in this version now for $150 apiece. With other versions already teased on the brand's Instagram, you can inquire about reserving one by emailing name [dot] lau [at] qq [dot] com.
