Hiro Hayashi, a.k.a. LilJapan, has finally finished the previously teased "Hikari-kun" 5.5-inch tall resin, rubber, and plaster figures and is prepared to bring the "First Born Edition" to frightening life. Modeled after the yōkai (mischievous and/or malevolent spirits in Japanese mythology), particularly the tsukumogami sub-class (which is comprised of ordinary household items that become animated on the one-hundredth anniversary of their creation), this is a modern interpretation of the Chōchinobake (提灯お化け, trans. Paper Lantern Ghost) specifically. Typically described as having one eye and a long tongue protruding from an open mouth, LilJapan's version wonderfully captures the full atmosphere of the beasts. This edition is set to be released on October 1st, 2013 at 12 Noon Pacific time in LilJapan's online shop for $100 apiece. But wait, there's more…
