Hungry Jack's "Monsters of the World" toys are coming to a kids meal near you!!!
SS.com readers are the best... that being said, we have just been sent some really cool images and information regarding some new kids meal toys, from the land down under! Hungry Jack's (the Australian arm of Burger King) appears to be stepping up their kids meal toys, and although we don't usually cover stuff like this on our site... how could we not, I mean... they are monsters! The theme for this new series is "Monsters of the World", and features fun representations of mythological creatures from around the world... and as you can see from the image above we have the Cyclops, the Yeti, and the Bunyip (an Australian mythological creature). These are due to be in Australian Hungry Jack's restaurants within the next couple of months and are included with the kid's meals... pretty cool! So I guess if you like what you see, and your not in Australia, time to find a mule and tell them to order up some kids meals for you.

Shinbone Creative vs. Stroll... part 3
As per our previous post HERE and HERE, we are getting closer and closer to the next step in our efforts, with the help from Scott W. over at Shinbone Creative, to take the SpankyStokes.com "Stroll" mascot into 3D form... and ultimately ready for toy production. In the image above, not much was tweaked except for the legs. At first they were facing straight ahead... I asked Scott if he could angle them out a little... and as you can see, it gives our "Stroll" just the right amount of attitude, with the slightest adjustment! Next... we move onto the texture/detail aspect of the figure.... where it really comes to life. If you are looking to get a figure created and fully realized... Shinbone Creative is your ticket, hit them up! More on the progress of our "Stroll" very soon!

Trenton M.'s "The Cat Collective - Lily" DIY Blank Resin Kitty!
Trenton M. has crafted this adorably simple 2-inch tall resin kitty, the first in his new "The Cat Collective" series, and entitled her "Lily." She's a DIY Blank figure that comes bagged with a header card and, while a little rough around the edges, she could be a lot of fun to paint up. Available for only a limited time, Lily costs $15 each from HERE.

Jason Freeny x Sucklord WIP figure for D-Con 2012
As we previously announced, this year's Designer Con will have a bevy of The Sucklord events in it, including "The Super Suck Up!" custom action figure show. We'd previously seen the above piece as a work-in-progress sculpt by Jason Freeny, which has now been cast as a run of 50 resin copies and is ready for Freeny to start painting them on up. These figures, as well as runs by other creators, will be available during the 2012 Designer Con for $100 each.

Pretty in Plastic's pieces for the Gallery1988 "Breaking Bad" art show!
The above pictured pieces by Julie B. & her Pretty in Plastic crew haven't been confirmed as part of the upcoming "The Breaking Bad Art Project" group show at Gallery1988 Melrose, curated by Breaking Gifs, it seems highly likely that they are. These chemical drums are marked just like those found in the Season 4 episode of Breaking Bad "Shotgun." And, for those that don't read Chinese, fēng (蜂) means wasp or bee.
"The Breaking Bad Art Project," presented by Breaking Gifs, opens on August 20th from 7-10PM at Gallery1988, 7020 Melrose Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90038.

JFury's "Bad Lollipop" custom Kidrobot Mascot figure!
JFury's custom Kidrobot Mascot figure, "Bad Lollipop," is like an inverse mullet: party in the front, business in the back… Yes, based on his design for the "Battle of the Mascots" series (seen HERE), this disturbingly evil looking clown is offering forth a lollipop while concealing a blood-spayed hatchet behind his back! Per usual, JFury's execution is great; his control of lines and color, fine sculpting details, everything just comes together right. This piece was a commission, so it is not for sale; but you can always contact him about a commission of your own.

Possibly the most dapper looking version of the Super7 mascot yet, "Pocket Invisiboy Blue" dresses the pint-sized mummy in a smoking jacket with an ascot. David Ten's "Mini Spider Bot" Steampunk Mechanized Sculpture Release!
When you say the word "steampunk" within the Designer Toy world, it's almost impossible not to think of Doktor A… and while David Ten of the 10th Street Gallery certainly was inspired by steampunk, and quite possibly Doktor A, I feel he's taken the very broad concept on a personalized journey; or, in other words, he put his own spin on it. Set to be released in an edition of 10 copies — including 2 variants — Ten is gearing up for his first "toy" release: the Mini Spider Bot. Each faux mechanized figure stands 4-inches tall and 5.5-inches wide, coming with the glass dome and wood display base. While these pieces aren't cheap — $150 each to be specific — they certainly look to be worth the expense for a fan of the style. The Mini Spider Bots will go on sale August 21st HERE.

PJ Constable's Adventure Time WIP custom "Fionna" Dunny being painted!
Following up on the previously revealed custom 3-inch Dunny by PJ Constable, paintbrush has been set to sculpted vinyl and the figure is becoming alive. Based off of the character of "Fionna" from Adventure Time, we've been marveling at the skillful work of Constable and awaiting — with baited breath — the final result! So far, our wait has not been in vain… Constable's paint application seems as clean as his sculpting, which is saying quite a bit.

Mr. Clement's "Lapin World Tour-L.A" at Toy Art Gallery!
Mr. Clement is gearing up for his debut solo show here in the States, which he's been posting teaser images of new works for the show. Included in the pictures are images of what appears to be a life-size Petit Lapin Museum 2012: Please Forget Me figure (his iconic Lapin design with the head as a mask with a skull underneath). The 'standard' size edition of the Please Forget Me figure is being released in a black colorway for the show, which is great considering both the white and grey versions of this 10-inch vinyl piece sold out quickly. And, in what appears to be a paint splattered edition, we have the Colorful Lapins…
The "Lapin World Tour-L.A" opens on August 25th and runs through September 12th, 2012 at Toy Art Gallery (TAG), 7571 Melrose Ave. (corner of Melrose & Curson), Los Angeles, CA 90046.
