This website is about any and everything that sparks the creative genius in all of us. By profession I am a Graphic Designer, and enjoy all aspects of design. From traditional to urban from resin to vinyl, these are all great mediums and deserve to be explored. On top of that everything from music to movies from guns to graffiti.
In the motherland I grew up with a huge appreciation for jelly... not JAM..I'm referring to the wobbly stuff. Bompass & Parr are amongst my favorite British gastronomists in the world of edible creations. Therefore, I'm excited to see these chaps team up with Sony Xperia to make the worlds most expensive robots. JELLY ROBOTS... and no, these are not the Jelly Empire.
The robots were created as part of Wes Anderson's "Made of Imagination" ad and Sony giveaway. The premise of the project being the‘Xperiabots’ escaped and are hiding around the UK waiting to be found in return for Sony prizes. FUN. Three of the missing robots were created by Bompass & Parr at £6000 each! Those who found the jelly robots got to keep, stare at or have a giant jelly and ice-cream fest! Well jells indeed.
We like that chap Brian Ewing and are stoked to see the book he produced for this years Comic Con. For those of you who couldn't join in all the SDCC fun and get hooked up with the goods, Brian kept a mini stash just for you! Lucky!!!

As we revealed yesterday, Frank Kozik's take on the Sucklord action figure for the upcoming "Super Suck Up" tribute show at Designer Con 2012 is a squid-headed creature straight out of Lovecraft's Cthulhu-esqe imaginings. The above art, by Kozik, is for the backing card of the 50 piece run — which will cost $100 each at the convention — and is done in a very retro, Jack Kirby comic book style… complete with the classic Kirby crackle! According to Trampt, this figure is entitled "Kronopus the Lord Hentai" — which certainly sounds like a supervillain's name to me!
Toy Break is back with another awesome episode featuring all kinds of news and reviews on toys. This week, artist Scott Tolleson and Ben are on the couch with George and Ayleen as they talk about SDCC 2012 in their annual "wrap-up" episode! So sit back and give it a gander!
As part of the previously announcedStegoforest custom group show, Shea "FrankenFactory" Brittain's piece — entitled "The Kings Procession" — looks fantastic. Not only are the pieces delicately altered with subtle sprays of color, but I love the concept of the Stegoforest being harnessed… dragging behind it the massive leaf upon which the tiny lizard king rides. Anyone interested in purchasing this piece should contact jesse [at] ghostandflower [dot] com about availability and for arranging the payment of $150 plus $8 shipping.
Artist Martin Hsu has just put up a a fresh new 2012 Dragon Boy tee for men and women in his online shop HERE right now. So if you are a fan of Martin's or better yet, love his Dragon Boy figure... this is for you, so go now!
Artist Kat Brunnegraff's recently completed the above pictured 4-inch Foomi custom, entitled "Sparkling Milky Way Night Walker." Painted with acrylic paints, I love how she achieved at least the illusion of a sheen to the night sky… I'm curious as to why this little fella looks so sad, but — as Brunnegraff points out — it might have to do with the fact that this "night walker is always very sleepy and can't seem to get the Star Dust out of his eyes." This one-of-a-kind piece is currently available in Brunnegraff's online shop for $75.
Erick Scarecrow's "Mermadi" design is getting a make-over for the "Mermadi 2" release from ESC-Toy, happening tomorrow (Friday, August 3rd, 2012). Limited to only 20 pieces worldwide, this resin cast figure is a wonderful adaptation of the original… a little less chibi in appearance this time, I'm especially fond of the fact she has flippers instead of arms. Exact time of release and price are unknown, but make sure to watch the ESC-Toy Twitter feed as well as the online store for updates.
Tim Biskup has created the above piece of art for the upcoming "MiXTAPE" group show at the LeBasse Projects in Chinatown, Los Angeles. The 24 artists in the show are each creating a piece that references a single song or artist, thus — when seen as a whole — they've created the visual version of the classic mixtape. Biskup's contribution is a reference to the progressive post-psychedelic electronic "band" Nurse With Wound, or — as NWW is sometimes noted — "purveyors of sinister whimsy to the wretched."I still play my LP copy of "Brained by Falling Masonry" from time to time, so thank you Mr. Biskup for reminding me its about time I put it on again…
The Miami-based duo known as FriendsWithYou recently erected a massively fun and adorable installation at the TMTP Cultural Center in Hong Kong. While the inflatable bouncing centerpiece might've been the show stealer, the various sculptures in fiberglass, plush and resin also resonated with onlookers both young and old alike. Hit the jump for many more photos! [Images and information courtesy of Arrested Motion.]
Have you been eager to see what VISEone's new "Tube Monster" figure actually looks like? While we'll probably have to wait until closer to New York Comic-Con for a proper full reveal, the previously reported on designer toy has had a complete color sample prototype in box made! For some reason, I'm guessing the slightly out-of-focus camera work might've been intentional…
As much as the Gorrilaz are defined by the musical direction of Damon Albarn, they are made by the visual style of artist Jamie Hewett. The Street Art Utopia website is reporting that the above pictured Gorrilaz graffiti piece was done by Hewett himself in Kragujevac, Serbia; but even if it wasn't done by Hewett, it still looks really great. *** UPDATE *** We've been informed that Street Art Utopia had a misunderstanding with the artist, thus the erroneous credit to Hewitt; the piece is by Nina Milosavljevic and Luka Stoisavljević, we're told.
This custom "Little Pink Bunny," made by Holly "A Little Stranger" Stanway, started out life as a 3-inch vinyl Android figure. No, seriously, that's what the base is. Unbelievable, right?!? Stanway went all out in transforming this: a face (and antlers) sculpted in polymer clay with real glass eyes, amazing faux fur that just touches the ground, and felt-lined ears. We're told the place the fur line ends was carefully measured, so he can glide around on his android legs without them being seen! Fantastic! This was a commission piece that Stanway did, so it is sadly not available, but you can try and get on her commission list if you wish to secure an amazing piece of your own…
