N.C. Winters "Cerberus" print... is AWESOME!!

Artist N.C. Winters is part of an online art print show entitled Myths & Monsters presented by Acidefree Gallery. The show’s theme is pretty straight forward... and they asked fourteen artists to create their take on classic myths and monsters. The kicker is that this show is online only, and the works will all be prints... RAD RIGHT?!?!?! Above is his submission for this show, titled "Cerberus", this amazing piece of work will be a limited edition of 75 giclées, on 310 gsm archival smooth fine art paper and each print is hand signed and numbered, priced at $65 each. The first two prints will be mounted to a wood panel and resined in an exclusive release. Only two will be made, available each for $200. DKE Toys x Suckadelic - “The Super Suck Up!” A group show featuring customized Sucklord figures

We briefly touched on this upcoming event HERE earlier this week, but just got the official press release today!!!! Get ready to start your engines as DKE Toys and Suckadelic present “The Super Suck Up”, a group art show featuring 50 piece customized Sucklord Figure Editions by: Billions McMillions, Buff Monster, DrilOne, Doktor A., Ferg, Frank Kozik, Jason Freeny, L’Amour Supreme, Luke Chueh, Matt Doughty/Onell Design, October Toys, Paulkaiju, Scott Tolleson, Scott Wilkowski, Skinner, and The Sucklord himself. DKE Toys asked each artist to customize, mash-up or paint an edition of 50 Sucklord figures each. These 3-3/4” figures will be complete with a bubble on a Sucklord designed backing card. Figures will retail for $100 each. These special editions will premiere and be available for sale at Designer Con, Saturday, November 3, 2012. For those who can’t make it out to the annual art, toy and design convention in Pasadena, California, there will be a special way to purchase figures. More news on this coming soon. "The Haunting" hand stained print by Yosiell Lorenzo

Yosiell Lorenzo is set to drop a brand new print entitled "The Haunting" tomorrow! This rad piece of work is in the same vein as his previous released wood prints and it measures 7" x 9" and is a hand stained print mounted on a french corner plaque and comes hand numbered and signed. They are $35 shipped, $45 international and drops tomorrow Friday at 11am PST via his online store HERE. Yosiell goes on to mention that the saying on the print was inspired by The Knife's "Silent Shout"... The song is awesome and the video is creepy. If you pick this up, it will be another great addition to an already amazing catalog of work by Yosiell.

Jon Knox's brand new work-in-progress sculpture piece…

Standing just shy of 8-inches tall, Jon Knox's brand new sculpt is done… except for the painting part. When asked if it would available for sale when completed, Knox replied that "it probably will be eventually" but also mentioned that he's "got a show coming up next year, so I'm gonna be holding on to some stuff for that too," which indicates — to me — that this might be a piece he's holding onto. I guess that means we've got something to look forward to next year already!

Scribe featured in Google Fiber promo video...

Well isn't this awesome!?!?! While watching the LIVE Google Fiber presentation today I was thoroughly impressed with what Google will be bringing to Kansas City in terms of Fiber Optic technology... 100x faster than any broadband, and true HD programming, but I digress. The real reason for this post is that Google decided to use Kansas City based artist Scribe in one of their promo videos. Standing in front of a massive wall that he painted, it's great to see artists, such as Scribe, get recognition... even though it doesn't say who he is in the spot, we all know, and I personally am super proud! Congrats dude!

Paisley Fawn's Plushes & Smudges & Amoebas… Oh My!

There must be something in the water in Chicago, for they seem to have a quite high plush artist per capita ratio… Paisley Fawn creates completely handmade "hand-sized" plush animals that she refers to as Smudges. Pictured above are her newest variety, the Rusty Red Panda Smudges, but there are a veritable safari of critters to choose from: chickens, tigers and bears, oh my! You can find the full selection, which range in price from $30 to $67 in Fawn's etsy shop.

Also in her etsy shop, you might notice these strange plush amoebas… What really caught my attention about these "Cuddle Bacteria" were the fact that their flagellum (tails) are fully posable and able to support the weight of the plush form, meaning you can hang these just about anywhere. These strange fellas are $70 each in the shop.

Task One's "Dunny Town" custom Dunny series is coming!

The previously hinted at Task One custom 3-inch Dunny series — entitled "Dunny Town" — releases tomorrow, July 27th, 2012. I love how the red and grey brick "buildings" look all immaculate (at least from the back) while the black brick one is in complete disarray. Details are scarce on this release, but we extect that Task One will announce how to buy this on his Twitter account… so give him a follow to avoid disappointment!

Davidkraig's custom Hellboy for Miss Zukie's group show!

Davidkraig's "Go that way, Red Monkey!" is a custom 4-inch Zukie for the upcoming "Zukie vs. the World" group show. An interpretation of the Mike Mignola character Hellboy, this piece has been extensively re-sculpted into the recognizable form of everyone's favorite demonic looking monster hunter (not that he had a lot of competition). The glorious detailing on the figure's Red Right Hand of Doom is perfect, right down to the swirl patterning, and the tiny BPRD logo on his belt buckle is absolutely insane.

"Zukie vs. the World" opens on July 27th with a reception from 6-10PM and runs through July 29th at Toy Toyko's TT Underground Gallery, 91 2nd Ave., New York, NY 10003. Mikie Graham's Mr. Sparkle (Monster Kolor Edition) custom Homer Qee!

Mikie Graham, of the famed Blamo Toys collective, has crafted a new edition of his "Mr. Sparkle" custom Homer Qee. Using Monster Kolor sparkle sprays, Graham is now satisfied that this Simpsons inspired piece lives up to it's name. In addition, the head of the figure is removable, allowing you to detach it and "float him around the house shouting nonsensical Japanese." In total, Graham intends to make between 6 and 10 of these pieces, depending on demand, that will cost $250 each. Interested parties can contact Graham to be placed on the wait list for one.

RunDMB's one-off Most Wanted Series 3 custom Dunny variant!

RunDMB's "Most Wanted Crew" custom Dunny from the Most Wanted Series 3 blind boxed set gets a surprising variant… one that won't be a chase in the series or even available for sale. A single UK collector provided RunDMB with all of the Dunnys to customize for his Series 3 inclusion and, in exchange, that collector will receive this variant of the design. The alteration is slight but noticeable: the normally red sneakers are now purple, while the his white sleeves have also become purple. RAGE's customized Big Bruno resin by BowoBaghaskara!

Indonesian artist BowoBaghaskara created this 6.5-inch tall Big Bruno resin bust which, in turn, was customized by his fellow countryman RAGE. The addition of the weathered texture to the surface is perfect, with the sculpted flames protruding from the eyes embodying the emotion of the artist's namesake: Rage. This piece does not appear to be for sale and, alas, we can't find a manner in which to locate RAGE himself.
