Andrew Bell's "Can of Worms" vinyl figures on display at DKE during SDCC 2012

He gave us Sushi as well as Sashimi... and now, the mind of Andrew Bell brings us a delightful new vinyl creation which we are calling his "Can of Worms"... for obvious reasons :-) These vinyl figures were on display at the DKE Toys booth during SDCC 2012 and they just looked adorable... and as you can see, there are already 2 colorways out in the wild, the red and the GID! The figures themselves are a bit of a departure from Andrew's more morbid/sad work... but nonetheless... they look amazing and I love that they come with a "can" that says "worms" on it! No word on a release or a price for these yet... but I am sure we will be seeing something pop-up in the not so distant future!

Davidkraig's custom "Onryō" is a Japanese-flavored demon Munny!

The amazing Davidkraig recently created the above "Onryō" custom using a 4-inch Mini Munny base with tons of intricate Super Sculpey work before acrylic detailing. Even the coat is made of real leather. For those that aren't aware, Onryō is traditional Japanese spirit of vengeance… someone that was wronged in life that has been given a powerful physical form in the afterlife in order to exact revenge. While typically these were females, it's not unheard of for there to be a male onryō (which is what this custom appears to depict). Regardless, he did a fantastic job portraying this 'demon.'
This piece is — it sadly seems — not for sale in Davidkraig's online shop, but you can always contact him about commissioning a piece similar to this one!

JFury's "JuJu Tribe" Blind Bagged custom 3-inch Dunnys!

As the cult of JFury continues to grow, his more aboriginal designed customs seem to be overtaking his classic clown visages. I really dig these 3" Dunny pieces, which are being sold blind bagged and — of course — the two lucky buyers of the 2-in-10 "black and grey chase" with it's wonderfully sculpted headdress are the real winners. But considering he's only selling these for $65 each, I guess everyone who can snag one is actually a winner… Available now in JFury's online shop!

Mujuworld's first nine "Mandala Spirits" figures released!

While people were busy at San Diego Comic-Con, Miss Muju had squirreled herself away inside Mujuworld's Muju-Studio, tirelessly hand-crafting these 7-inch tall resin "Mandala Spirit" figures. Hand-cast, hand-painted, signed & numbered, each one is a completely unique collectible worthy of the finest collections… and, for the eco-friendly, these are cast in a plant-based, non-toxic bio resin. And, the best part is, these are only the first nine! This is the first wave of a new ongoing series the Muju duo are doing, but it's always best to get in on the ground floor, isn't it? The "Mandala Spirit" figures are currently available in the Mujuworld online shop for £80 (approx. $125) each.

PHOTO RECAP: …and the DKE Toys' Sample Sale closes SDCC!

And as we come to the end of another year of the San Diego Comic-Con, our intrepid photographer captures the madness that is the DKE Toys's Sample Sale. Yes, all those wonderful display samples had to go… what you see is what you get, no box, no accessories, no nothing, but they were cheap and the crowd didn't seem to mind at all! Click through for the photo slideshow…

PHOTO RECAP: Martin Hsu signing at the Kuso Vinyl SDCC Booth!

It seemed like everywhere you turned at this year's SDCC, there was Martin Hsu… the in-demand artist did signings at multiple booths (this photo set is from his Kuso Vinyl one) as well as having his own booth all to himself. You know, it's supposed to be the Year of the Dragon but I'm feeling like it's the Year of the Dragon Boy! Click through for the photo slideshow…

PHOTO RECAP: David Horvath of Uglydoll's signing at DKE Toys' SDCC Booth!

It's always fun when someone like David Horvath — co-creator of the Uglydoll phenomenon — takes time to set-up at DKE Toys' SDCC Booth and do some signings and sketches… Our man on the scene was in a mad rush to try and eek out all he could on this final day of the con, but he still snapped some nice candid photos of Horvath for all you fans out there.

REVEAL: Sucklord's S.U.C.K.L.E. prototypes from DKE Toys' SDCC Booth!

Hidden deep in the displayed items of the DKE Toys SDCC Booth, eagle eyed reader's might've spotted this little guys in yesterday's post about the booth. These M.U.S.C.L.E.-sized (& styled) figures are called S.U.C.K.L.E. and were sculpted by George Gaspar (of OMFG! & October Toys fame) based on famous characters of the Sucklord's creation: Gay Empire, Vectar the Intolerable, Another Bitch, Galactic Jerkbag, and Sucklord. These prototypes were not for sale, but we're told that the full release should be out for the Holiday season.
