Leecifer x Dragatomi - SDCC 2012 Camille Rose Garcia "Batgirls" customs

Leecifer has been busy cranking out some serious custom fodder for SDCC 2012, and his recent few pieces were done up on Camille Rose Garcia's awesome 4 pack of vinyl figures Cherry, Lulu, Patch and the conjoined twins Katie and Sadie... but in true Leecifer fashion, he transformed these femme fatales into characters from the Batman comic fame. each one stands a whopping 14" tall and will be up for grabs at Dragatomi's booth #4935 during SDCC 2012. I love how these turned out, and you have your pick at "Harley", "Poison Ivy", "Cat Woman", and "Batgirl/Robin"... oh, and if you are a true die-hard, you will get off your wallet and buy them all up to make for one heck of a collection!

Dragatomi x Kaiju Coup x Plaseebo - "Blue Moon" Wari Inu release for SDCC 2012

It looks like the ever so elusive Kaiju Coup has teamed up with Bob Conge of Plaseebo to release a mashed up Wari Inu figure that he is calling the "Blue Moon" edition! As you can see, Bob took the body of his "Molezilla" figure and fitted the "Wari Inu" head to it... seamlessly I might add to create this nasty looking dog like creature. The figure itself is hand-cast resin, stands 8 3/4" tall and is a 1-off hand paint by Bob Conge with metal chain and cast block... a true collectors item. This will be up for grabs at Dragatomi's booth #4935 during SDCC 2012 for $750!

Nakanari's "Spiki Ninja" Dunny Series 2012 APs with accessories!

When Kidrobot announced that Nakanari's "Spiki Ninja" design would be in the Dunny Series 2012 set, we all expected the iconic red scarf to be present in some form and — of course — some cool ninja weapon accessories. Instead of painting the scarf on, the amazing Dunny had a sculpted one that literally looked like it was flowing in the wind… but the inclusion of this nixed out any plans for other accessories and… um… huh?!? Is it just me or does that one pictured above have a sword and two shuriken? That's because these sweet AP pieces from Nakanari's Mai Hiro include these wonderful accessories as crafted by Outta My Mind Creations. In addition to these wonderful accessories, the AP will also include a 11" x 15" print similar to the art on the Dunny's insert card. How much will these limited APs cost? When they drop on Thursday, July 5th, 2012 in the Mai Hiro web shop they will be $75 each.

Fuller's "HeadlessHorse… Man" Horselington custom for Toy Invaderz show!

This past weekend saw the opening of the "Toy Invaderz" custom show in Chicago, which included the wonderful Horslington piece by Fuller Designs entitled "HeadlessHorse… Man." While it might not be October quite yet, I do have a fondness for the classic The Legend of Sleepy Hollow… so this wonderfully detailed piece which reinterprets that tales antagonist immediately found a soft spot in my heart. While the Jack-O-Lantern belt buckle and arm decorations are nice touches, it's actually the subtly applied one on the chest that catches my eye. How wonderfully, frighteningly perfect…

The "Toy Invaderz" Group Art Show is currently up and runs through July 30th at RGB Lounge, 1420 N. Milwaukee Ave., Chicago, IL 60622.

Participating artists include: Jim Magee, Lynell Ingram, Task One, JC Rivera, Steven Patt, Shane Haddy, Alison Perez/Zukie, Czr Prz, Audrey Smith, James Fuller, Valerie Gudell, Nerviswrek, Frank Mysterio, Dave Webb, Dan DMS, Osiris Orion, Shawn Wigs, Mike Mendez/NemO, Chris Moore, Adam Pratt/Halfbad, Anjali Bahl, Rezorek, BJ Storms, Frank Diaz, Ciermuco Toys, Erica Holuboff, JFury, Giannina Gutierrez, Jeff Beck, Travis Lykins, Audrey Smith, Matt Dcay Melville, and Emmanuel L White Eagle.

Shephard Fairey x Mr Andre in Paris... OUI!!!!

Lately, I've been reading lots of awesome, not that its never not awesome, on Shephard Fairey and his latest transatlantic endeavors. On this late evening nerding out, I found a co-lab that sparked my interest involving Shephard and a French chap that goes by the name of Mr Andre at the flagship Champs-Elysees Levi's store in Paris. OOHhhhh!!!

The in-store installation is accompanied by a billboard featuring both artists, in addition to some custom threads. See these guys in action in a nice little video above... ENJOY!!!

Daniel Fleres's blessing of Swanicorn Deer Companions for Dragatomi's SDCC Booth!

"No, son," the hunter said, "put your rifle down. That there be a flock of them Swanicorn Deer and it be bad luck to shoot them." The young man sighed. "Geez, Dad, I know… And they're not called a flock, it's a blessing of Swanicorn Deer, alright!"
And indeed, Swanicorn expert Daniel Fleres confirms that this grouping of five Swanicorn Deer Companions would be properly referred to as a "blessing." The Swanicorn Deer (cygnusicornis cervus) is an elusive breed that is rarely spotted in the wild and almost unheard of in captivity. But, by some miraculous event, the fine breeders over at Dragatomi's Swarnicorn Farms appear to have several of these domicile beasts in their menagerie. Set to be exhibited at the world renowned San Diego Comic-Con in Booth #4935, these docile Swanicorn Deer will actually be available for purchase by exotic animal collectors that attend the event. Be forewarned that Dragatomi does reserve the right to refuse sale to anyone they suspect might be buying this nearly endangered breed to use for culinary purposes.
This sale is being done on behalf of the Swanicorn Observational Society and Daniel Fleres, who actually delivered the 7-inch-tall hand-painted resin beasts into the hands of Dragatomi. All five will be available for $300 each, which is a steal considering the rarity of the breed.

Buff Monster's exclusive SDCC Melty Misfits packs at DKE Toys's booth!

As we previously mentioned, there will be an exclusive pack of Buff Monster "Melty Misfits" trading cards for the 2012 San Diego Comic-Con. Manufactured by Sidekick Labs, these $5 waxpaper sealed packs are limited to only 200 copies… each of which is guaranteed to include the one card made especially for the convention: Messed-Up Melvin (18a). If you look through your collection of Melty Misfits sticker cards, then you'll notice that #18 already exists and uses a horizontal flip of the same image… but the names are Mixed-Up Milton (18a) and Jumbled Julian (18b). In the Garbage Pail Kids editions that inspired this set, there was a common occurrence that fans denote as the "C Cards"… which usually had a variant name version on the B card edition, making a total of three versions for some cards; a tradition that Buff Monster seems to have wonderfully mutated to his own ends! These ultra-limited $5 packs will each contain 7 cards and be available at DKE Toys's Booth #4728 throughout the convention.

The "TurtleBacked ClutterMunk" from Huck Gee

We posted up a ton of WIP shots HERE over the weekend of Huck Gee's newest figure... and today, actually just now, Huck released full images and info of this beast dubbed the "TurtleBacked ClutterMunk"... and as you can see... the name actually makes alot of sense :-) Following with the whole slew of Gee's releases, this figure features immaculate craftsmanship along with an uncanny amount of accessories, making this custom run of 10 pieces well worth the money spent. Each figure is signed, numbered, includes shown accessories and comes padded and packaged in its own hand assembled and laser etched wooden box and then boxed within another shipping box. These are going to retail for $1275 per figure... a sizable chunk of change, but that figure is pretty damn sizeable as well... and how cool is that lantern that hangs in front of the figure... I love it!!! This set will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis. Anyone interested, please email sales@huckgee.com ASAP to reserve your figure and make payment arrangements.

Jeremiah Ketner to release two new prints today!

With imagery that seems to be torn out of some stylized fairy tale, Jeremiah Ketner's duo of fantastical prints — Wishing Tree and Floating Shadow — reveal scenes of beautiful women slumbering amidst imagery that seems askew from reality. These sleeping beauties are limited to a mere 30 signed & numbered copies each, printed on high quality 17" x 22" Hahnemuhle German Etching paper (which is 100% a-Cellulose, White, Textured, and 310gsm weight). Given Ketner's popularity and the elegant gorgeousness of these pieces, I can't imagine these $75 prints will last long in Ketner's online shop when they release today at 12 Noon Central time.

*REVEALED* Gary Ham's "Wooper Looper" sofubi figure set to release at SDCC 2012

The time has finally come, "Wooper Looper" designed by Gary Ham is finally seeing his first release at SDCC 2012 and as I know personally, having been the first person to see him last year at SDCC 2011 when Chauskoskis pulled the freshly sculpted proto from his bag and Gary layed eyes on it... this has been a long road. Wooper Looper may be simple looking in design, but the little guy pushed the limits of sofubi production. In talking with Gary, this little critter proved to be quite a challenge and overcame many production hurdles to be the very best that he can be, and standing at 5.25" tall, bagged with header card... which by the way Gary is making all of these headers by hand using a wood block printing process so each header will be unique, and you can see the header image below... cool!

Above is a shot of the first painted version of Gary's Wooper Looper, and it will be limited to 100 pieces. Also planned for SDCC is the release of a pink "unpainted" version... and although there is no set word on pricing, expect these to retail for around the $45-$65 range. I seriously love the way this turned out... and I am sure so many other folks out there are as stoked as I am for this release!!!! Make sure to visit Gary's booth #4836 to snag one up as well as a ton more other goodies!!!

Rampage Toys's "Cyclops Dinos" Color Samples are here!

As we'd previously reported, Rampage Toys have put their fantastically fun "Cyclops Dinos" up for pre-order… with each of the three dinosaur-inspired designs coming in one of three colorways. And while it was one thing to talk about how this high-quality Japanese vinyl (sofubi) will look but another to see those bright & shiny color samples! Call me a traditionalist, but I like my one-eyed dinosaurs in green! But you can choose for yourself (or even mix-and-match) at $55 per set in Rampage Toys's online store.

TrustoCorp strikes London with some Olympics Billboard Commentary…

In order to rev up some hype for the 2012 Olympics, artists Shepard Fairey, Ron English, RISK and TrustoCorp were commissioned to do some legal street art at the London Pleasure Gardens promoting the event. While at the site of the Olympic games, it seems TrustoCorp was moved to do a wee bit extra beyond what was asked of them… putting up the rather pro-American "We are better than you!" billboard. I don't know about Londoners, but I think it's funny…
