SDCC 2012 teaser from Zombie Monkie

Here is a little twist for you all... what the heck is Mikie aka Zombie Monkie up to. Well, it look like he is putting a twist on that old "This is your brain on drugs" commercial and using a Jumping Brain to get his point across. So what could this be... well, it's obviously a teaser for a custom he is planning on dropping at SDCC 2012... other than that, it's a mystery. Stay tuned!

RunDMB's custom Fonzo for the upcoming Freak Store show!

Done in his immediately identifiable style, RunDMB serves up this insanely cool looking custom Fonzo figure for Freak Store's upcoming custom group show. Fonzo is a 6" vinyl platform that Freak Show developed themselves, so it makes perfect sense that they'd do a platform specific show to highlight it. And if the other contributors to this show have as much fun with the format as RunDMB obviously did, then this will be a great show! More information to come when it's made available…

Scandal Strikes the Kidrobot Munnyworld Awards! (Okay, not really…)

Over the weekend we posted a recap of the winners for the 2012 Munnyworld Awards done by Kidrobot. But now, for specific reasons unknown, the announced Best In Show winner was determined to be in violation of the rules and thus disqualified. As such, the "Doctor Poingeckster and Flamingor" custom by Kasey Tararuj (pictured above) has now assumed the title of Best In Show! But since the grand prize winner isn't eligible for placing in other categories, Tararuj's winning pieces in both Best Foomi and Best Raffy had to be shifted out, changing the winners in both:
Again, congratulations to all the winners!

Yakuza Series of 5" Mini Qee Bunees by Fakir

Announcing the latest addition to the 5" Mini Qee Artist Line - The Yakuza Series by Fakir. Toy2R USA makes every effort to scour the globe to find new artists and fresh designs to work with and when they found a set of original custom Mini Qees by French artist, Fakir, it was a no-brainer that they should be made into production pieces. Originally the artist created a similar design using the 9" Bunee Qee, but creating a collection using the Mini Qee platform seemed the best way to explore the variations of Fakir's Yakuza theme. Scheduled to be released in August, and retailing for just $28 each, expect to see a few different versions as the Yakuza take over the world.

Pete Fowler X Dudebox... inside the studio!

I know this is a few months old... but nonetheless, it's an awesome video that lets you meet the Monsterist. Also... he goes by the identity Pete Fowler. Several or so years ago in London town scavenging through PlayLounge, I was introduced to this man of mystery. Today, I am still nerding out on his work. Check out Mr. Fowler having a chinwag with Dudebox in their Inspire to Create video series. It is also a peak at the Pete Fowler and Fiends platform vinyl toys

FrankenFactory's Tiger(Wolf)Girl Artist Edition made with Monster Kolor!

It appears to be quite the tiger-rific day… hot on the heels of the Tiger Stroll, we have Shea "FrankenFactory" Brittain's Tiger(Wolf)Girl, wherein the talented artist used Monster Kolor paints to make her deliciously delightful WolfGirl character into one wearing a tiger pelt.
This, much like the previously revealed color-changing version, appear to be part of a series of one-off custom paint jobs Brittain is doing with her iconic design. And yes, that's one-off as in only one made, first come equals first served… She's revealing them on her Twitter account, so we strongly encourage you to follow her there as it seems people have been buying them without these wonderful pieces ever making it into Brittain's online shop.

SpankyStokes x Dan Brodzik - Limited edition custom "Tiger" Stroll series dropping TODAY!!!!

Originally created as a 1-off figure (posted HERE) as well as seen in an awesome digital painting/rendering, this "Tiger" Stroll was a sight to see... and after getting such positive feedback from the OMFG community, John "Spanky" Stokes (that's me) of SpankyStokes.com asked creator Dan Brodzik to do a run of these for fans... and he agreed! This 100% hand-painted "Tiger" Stroll figure is the real deal, and features an amazing amount of painstaking detail not only in the figure, but in the entire package as Dan created a blister pack for each of these on the original OMFG Series 1 backer.

This was created as a limited edition series of 10 figures, but only 8 of them will be up for grabs TODAY!!!! Dropping at 12 Noon PST via the SpankyStokes.com online store HERE for just $60 each + shipping. Each 2" tall figure also comes with a highly durable/waterproof print of the original digital painting/rendering and it measures 16" x 7 1/2", all of which are signed and numbered by the artist. Jay222, JFury, Scott Tolleson, valleyDweller & DrilOne's custom Androids for Dragatomi's SDCC 2012 series!

Continuing our series of reveals for the Dragatomi blind boxed Android customs series to be issued at the 2012 San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) we have pieces from five contributors! Pictured above are a pair of customs by Jay222, who took an amazingly inventive approach to the format… the exterior is almost untouched, letting the transparent green subtly reveal the amazingly hand-crafted critters inside.
Clowns?!? Oh yes, it's the contributions from JFury! Every time I see one of his most recent customs, it's obvious how many leaps and bounds this customizer has taken in the last year… Just look at that sculpted lower lip and protruding teeth. Fantastic!
And who doesn't love them some valleyDweller? Very nice wash of natural looking tones… the wood paneling effect he's created on the body is quite impressive. Which, to be fair, shouldn't be a surprise… valleyDweller does tend to impress.
A duo of exquisitely done pieces by Mr. Scott Tolleson. I love that grimy, weathered effect he's addded here to his sickly slick detail style. These are such utterly amazing pieces that I'm at a loss for words… and trust me, that's not easy to do!
And we're going to leave you off with a quick rearview tease of DrilOne's second contribution to the series… Wow!

Dragatomi's blind boxed custom Android series will cost $80 per box and only 50 customs will be in the series. They will be available at SDCC Booth #4935, but day and time of release are still unknown.

A Little Stranger x Gary Ham's Cavey: Wooper Looper!

I don't even know what you're supposed to be with those adorable gill stalks, but I think I love you, Wooper Looper! As we previously teasedA Little Stranger is continuing her wonderful tradition of collaborating with another artist to make a Convention specific Cavey; and this time she partnered with none other than Gary Ham to create the "Wooper Looper" for the 2012 San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC).
Each Wooper Looper comes in it's own snug goodie bag with a specially designed Gary Ham header card! And keeping the adorable plush company in the goodie bag is a glitter Cavey sticker, a black enamel Cavey badge, and a Cavey carry bag and a Cavey postcard! The only problem is that he's limited to a mere 30 copies! And 10 of those pieces will be at SDCC starting preview night, available from Ham himself at Booth #4836! Can't make SDCC? Maxx242's Rock Poster for Blink-182's Newcastle Show!

Maxx242 of the Fighting 4 Dreams Studios designed the above screen printed poster for last night's Blink-182 show with The All American Rejects and Twin Atlantic. Limited to only 150 numbered copies of this print made for the June 19th, 2012 Metro Radio Arena show in Newcastle, England, but there's no official word on when any remaining copies might trickle online for fans to snag up… I'd keep a watch on the F4D Studios online store if you're interested, as I have a feeling it might just appear and be gone in no time flat…
