Martin Hsu's "CRAKENS BOTANICA" @ Fabric8
Fabric8 presents "CRAKENS BOTANICA", a solo show featuring new works by San Francisco artist Martin Hsu... and I don't know about you guys, but these Craken characters from Martin are by far some of the cutest little creatures Martin creates, that being said... "CRAKENS BOTANICA" will explore the similarities between these half-land animal and half-sea creatures, and succulent plants... which are both sharp and pointy on the outside but soft and squishy on the inside. The show opens this weekend, Saturday June 23rd from 7pm-10pm... and if that teaser above isn't enough to lure you into this show, I don't know what will... so come on out to support Martin and his rad body of works!!!

Dory's "bra(v)ery" custom threeA Bambaboss is "V For Vendetta" inspired!
Daniel "Dory" Yu was commissioned to recreate a threeA 5.5" tall Bambaboss figure into something inspired by the titular character from Alan Moore's "V For Vendetta" graphic novel. Entitled "bra(v)ery," the above shown 'main face' — the figure has three interchangeable masks — is the one reminiscent of the infamous Guy Fawkes visage from the comic and what "V" would be complete without his trusty set of sai? Strangely enough, I think my favorite part is the perfectly written "FIST" on each of the pieces knuckles, which may not be an innovative detail but looks fantastic here all the same.

HungryImp's brand new Zombie mini figure is shambling out soon!
Travis "HungryImp" McIntosh has sculpted this grotesque, pustule riddled zombie, captured in mid-shamble stance, as a new mini figure release. This hand-painted prototype gives an idea of what the final piece might look like, but we're told it'll be a couple of weeks before McIntosh can cast them in a sizable run. As anyone that's ever tried to sculpt a mini figure know, getting this level of detail work is tricky and I think McIntosh pulled it off great. So, who can't wait to have their own horde of zombies?

UME Toys's "Hugo Shortpants" is ready to steal your heart!
Now when I say that "Hugo Shortpants is ready to steal your heart," I obviously don't mean literally. C'mon, look at that sweet face, he knows no malice. No, I mean figuratively, as I'm sure you're right now trying to suppress issuing forth an "aww" sound. The newest creation from Richard "UME Toys" Page, pictured above is the OG colorway for "Hugo Shortpants"… but just like the now legendary "Martin Longbottom the Third," we hear there will be a flocked version of this enticing 5-inch-tall resin character as well.
Roar With Lucas's "Rupert & Ronnie" custom Munny & Dunny/Labbit hybrid!
Vienna-based artist & designer Roar With Lukas shared with us this heart-warming piece entitled "Rupert & Ronnie." In fact, he laid the premise out for us rather simply by stating: "Look at Rupert. He's old. He has a dog. Isn't life beautiful?" It sure looks like it is, as both man and beast are pleased as can be… The 7" Munny "Rupert" has an absolutely fantastically sculpted nose and mustache, but it's really the form of "Ronnie" that caught my eye: he's a Dunny and Labbit hybrid. Right then and there, I can't stop thinking "Kidrobot should obviously officially produce these." It's such a simple concept, but the execution makes it look perfect. While we don't know if this piece is still available, you can always hit Lukas up on Facebook to find out.

Otto Bjornik's Shah Mat++ chess set 9" custom Dunnys!
You might recall late last year when we wrote about the fantastic custom chess set that Otto Bjornik had created using Dunnys and Mini-Totems. Now, celebration of Father's Day, Bjornik is revisiting the design, having crafted 9-inch-tall custom Dunnys for the Black & White Kings & Queens of the chess board. This seems a fitting tribute to his father, as Bjornik informs us that one of his fondest childhood memories was his father playing "chess with me almost every day when I was a kid."
And it should come as no surprise to fans of Bjornik that these pieces look perfectly constructed in every regard. All four figures will go on sale today in Bjornik's web store, with an asking price of $500 per piece — though he does state that he hopes to keep the king and queen from each color together. While this might seem like a pricy investment, given Bjornik's talent it's also a worthwhile one.

FrankenFactory's Monster Kolor Color-Changing WolfGirl!
One of the most prominent interpretations of Little Red Riding Hood claims that the coloration of her cloak is meant to indicate a girl's passage into womanhood, an allegorical telling wherein the "Big Bad Wolf" is any man that might take advantage of her blossoming, changing body. While I'm not sure I personally subscribe to this reading, it does make one wonder what Shea "FrankenFactory" Brittain's WolfGirl is all about… For in Brittain's 'Fractured Fairytale' resin version, the girl has obviously vanquished the wolf and now wears his pelt as her prize.
And never has that wolf's fur looked as amazing as it does in the above shown version, made using a variety of Monster Kolor paints but especially their coveted "color change" spray. I've been a fan of the 8-inch-tall resin WolfGirl from the moment I first laid eyes on her, for the strikingly simple design hides a myriad of highly detailed aspects… and once you've held this weighty piece of resin in your hands, you know it's worth every single penny you spend on it. While this fantastic color changing version has yet to appear in Brittain's online shop, there is a wonderful assortment of other colors available there as well as exclusives in the Toy Art Gallery web store.

Alot has happened since our first post HERE about the new art toy company called 'Mighty Jaxx' and their first vinyl art figure, the "Hell Lotus"... and today we are getting a glimpse at the actual wax sample as well as the Clogtwo's illustrated turnarounds. The wax sample is however very rough and still a WIP, but check out the 'secret' hand will be included with the figure... a nice way to say hello... right?!?! This is coming right along and I am looking forward to seeing more from this figure. Oh, and if you wanna keep track yourself, visit their website HERE.

SpankyStokes x Dan Brodzik - Limited edition custom "Tiger" Stroll series dropping 06/20/2012
Originally created as a 1-off figure (posted HERE) as well as seen in an awesome digital painting/rendering, this "Tiger" Stroll was a sight to see... and after getting such positive feedback from the OMFG community, John "Spanky" Stokes (that's me) of SpankyStokes.com asked creator Dan Brodzik to do a run of these for fans... and he agreed! This 100% hand-painted "Tiger" Stroll figure is the real deal, and features an amazing amount of painstaking detail not only in the figure, but in the entire package as Dan created a blister pack for each of these on the original OMFG Series 1 backer.
This was created as a limited edition series of 10 figures, but only 8 of them will be up for grabs on Wednesday, June 20th 2012 at 12 Noon PST via the SpankyStokes.com online store HERE for just $60 each + shipping. Each figure also comes with a highly durable/waterproof print of the original digital painting/rendering and it measures 16" x 7 1/2", all of which are signed and numbered by the artist. Along with the print and blister packed "Tiger" Stroll figure, you will also get tons of stickers and buttons. This is an amazing piece in person, and will go great with the rest of your growing OMFG collection... best of luck grabbing these, and see you all on Wednesday!

Tony Gil's "Black and Red Free Runner Kid" one-off custom!
Tony Gil, third place winner at the Munnyworld Contest for his "Free Runner – Diamond Ninja in Attack Mode" custom, is revisiting is rapidly sold out "Free Runner Diamond Kid" piece (reviewed HERE) with this one-off version: "Black and Red Free Runner Kid." While the strictly two-color nature of this piece doesn't make it pop as much as the original, this might be your last chance to own this action pose version of everyone's favorite Kidrobot Mascot. Set to be released at some point today in Gil's online store, the exact time of release and price point are mysteries…
Brandon Heart's Rock Poster for Blink-182's Sheffield Show!
Brandon Heart of SoupGraphix Inc. — also known for designing one of TSURT's "Don't Make Me Happy" figures — crafted the above screen printed posted for last night's Blink-182 show with The All American Rejects and Twin Atlantic. There were only 100 signed & numbered copies of this print made for the June 17th, 2012 Motorpoint Arena show in Sheffield, England, but there's no official word on when any remaining copies might trickle online for fans to snag up… I'd keep a watch on Heart's Big Cartel webshop if you're interested, as I have a feeling it might just appear and be gone in no time flat…
