Shepard Fairey's billboard tributes to MCA of Beastie Boys!

Shepard Fairey has made this wonderful tribute billboard, with an image based off of the Glen E. Friedman photo, as part of "a homegrown project to show respect and remembrance to the late Adam Yauch (MCA) of the Beastie Boys." Fairey has taken out two billboards in the Los Angeles area, which will be displaying this image for at least the next couple of weeks; one is located on Sunset at Las Palmas & the other on Fairfax just south of Santa Monica Boulevard.

JFury's custom Munny piece for "They Came From The Streets 2"!

About two weeks ago, we revealed a teaser image for JFury's contribution to the "They Came From The Streets 2" group custom show… and now we can finally show you the non-obscured version of "Loco the Clown." This 7" Munny features some great sculpting in the face and, while not the most obvious, I do love the lower lip that the cigarette is dangling from.

"They Came From The Streets 2," organized by the guys of Urban Vinyl Daily, was held on June 1st at UNHeardof, 323 W 4th St., Cincinnati, OH 45202. All pieces will be available on the Urban Vinyl Daily website for sale starting Monday, June 4th.

Contributing artists include: Frank Kozik, Scott Tolleson, Gary Ham, DrilOne, Eyeone, 64 Colors, ValleyDweller, Steve Talkowski, Rsin, Lunartik, VISEone, Task One, Luke Cheuh, THARP, Nerviswr3k, Ian Ziobrowski, Abe Lincoln JR., Scribe and Alisa Ross, Squink, A Little Stranger, JFury, Jon Chase, JC Rivera, Maxx242, Chase Tafoya, Chris Brett, Dez Einswell, Terribly Odd, Jason Gallo, and Cache.

Teodoru Badiu's "Kawaii Pirate Dude" Dudebox custom!

Designer Teodoru Badiu got his hands on a Blank DIY "Dude" from Dudebox and opted to paint it into a "Kawaii Pirate Dude" (Kawaii means 'cute' in Japanese). He used Molotow Acrylic pens and Acrylic paint to decorate it, creating a wonderfully simple & adorable fanged creature with a skull emblazoned upon it's chest. The bare bones color scheme and cartoonish look completely work here, generating just the right level of "awww" factor. Great job, Teodoru!

Aretwo Deetwo's "Grom the God of Lava" custom for Kidrobot's Munnyworld!

Artist Aretwo Deetwo crafted "Grom, the God of Lava" for Kidrobot's Munnyworld Contest... and just check out that amazing custom 7" Munny... AWESOME!!! He tells us that this custom took over 40 hrs of work to complete... and I can see why just by looking at the photos taken by Furtive Photography, just look at the amount of detail and sculpting put into this piece! He goes on to mention that "I'm usually not happy with Munny arms, so I made them from scratch, which is why it took longer to complete." Grom is something that Aretwo Deetwo has had in his head for quite some time now... and I for one am glad he came out to greet the world! Great looking piece man!!!

Lunartik's sculpture for "They Came From The Streets 2"!

Matt "Lunartik" JOnes's hand-painted resin & clay sculpture, for the "They Came From The Streets 2" group custom show, features his 'Quite New' character playing "The Street Artist" (quite literally). As JOnes even mentions, 'Quite New' has "drawn you a nice picture on the pavement and [is] asking for cash donations." This fantastic piece will be available, starting tomorrow, for $300.

Kingdom Death's "Experiment of Death" miniatures available now!

A while back a friend sent me a link to a site called Kingdom Death and proclaimed that they had some of the sickest miniatures he'd ever seen, and — mind you — this was coming from a guy that has been playing Warhammer 40K for countless years. When I checked out the site, there was absolutely no way I could disagree with him… these figures were nightmarishly wonderful and expertly crafted. And while the actual Kingdom Death game is still being developed, they have been issuing a steady stream of figures to grow their world and finance the game's creation.
Now, for the first time, they moved from hand-made resin runs of figures to Machine Injected Plastic (PVC) and have re-issued two of their most popular figures: the Twilight Knight Pinup and Wet Nurse monstrocity (with three pregnant women worshippers). For me, it's all about the Wet Nurse… this wonderfully horrid creature has been issued twice before and always sold out within 24 hours. The "Experiment of Death" set is limited to 180 copies at $65 each, which is the price just the Wet Nurse alone demanded in the past. This set is available in the Kingdom Death web shop.
