Early production shots of Kozik's "William, Reginald & Henry" & Baseman's "Slugilicious" from Arts Unknown
It was a few weeks ago now where we posted up HERE the final sculpt of Doktor A.'s amazing looking "Bella Delamere" figure... and we posed the question, where the heck the rest of the figures were in the initial launch of this series from startup Arts Unknown?!?! Well, ask and ye shall receive, as today we have new pictures of some factory production shots of Kozik’s "William, Reginald & Henry" as well as Baseman’s "Slugilicious" figures. We are also told that it's not long now before we see these figures actually in production mode... so be on the lookout for future updates.

Eelus takes new artistic direction for "Curious" at Black Book Gallery!
Artist Eelus seems to have — at least temporarily — hung up his stencils to explore the world of hand-cut paper pictures. It's rather safe to assume this isn't a permanent decision, but his upcoming solo show at Black Book Gallery, "Curious," is comprised completely of works formed with this new artistic direction. As the press release explains:
"Curious" opens on June 1st with a reception that Eelus will be in attendance for. "Curious" will be on exhibit at the Black Book Gallery, 555 Santa Fe Dr., Denver, CO 80204. The gallery has notified us that they will be releasing a couple of limited edition screen prints as part of this exhibit.
The curiosity cabinets of the 16th century onward were the starting point for Eelus’s inspiration for ‘Curious’. Within these strange collections you would find fantastic specimens from the natural world, fascinating studies on the human body, paintings and pictures from around the globe and even objects of great mystery and wonder that can’t be explained by science at all. Thus the subject matter of all these new works "fall within the categories usually found inside the cabinets of wonder," which I think sounds magnificent. Since we're eager to see more pieces in this vein, you can certainly anticipate a follow-up post after the show opens.

Tracy Tubera's '"Le Rad' Mini 10-Doh! Blind Box Series 1 from Squid Kids Ink
Last week we announced a few artists involved with the upcoming Squid Kids Ink 3.5" Mini 10-Doh! blind box series... and today we are getting a look at the art work that artist Tracy Tubera submitted for this really cool series. As you can see, Tracy drew inspiration from his little pup "Tux" with his rendition of "Le Rad for the TUXTENDO entertainment system" hahaha, and what a great photo... that dog is seriously photogenic! In the series there will be 12 gray figures (like the one that you see above) and 4 rare gold figures for a total of 16 to collect... and these are set to debut at SDCC 2012 via the Squid Kids Ink booth #5137 and will retail for just $10 a piece!!!! Oh, and if you are interested in in who else is doing designs for this series, Squid Kids Ink got designs from: Andrew Wilson, Doktor A., Jerome Lu, Jesse Hernandez, Kozik, Kwestone, Luke Chueh, Matt JOnes, Nakanari, Nate Mitchell, and Scott Tolleson... Stay tuned for more figure reveals, as well as more goodies for SDCC from SKI!!!!

Sergey Safonov's porcelain "Bayloom" figure
Taking the leap from resin to porcelain for the first time, Russian based artist Sergey Safonov has just announced his first figure in this new medium. Titled "Bayloom", Sergey mentions that he is a little dweller from the Gooma universe who stands 3" tall and is 100% handmade. I really do like the simplistic nature of this character who resembles a waterdrop/pear shape with very little defining characteristics... yet just enough to have some real added charm. These are available HERE right now for just $25 a pop... a really great deal, so go snag one!

UNCLE's custom Lil'G Mini Boombox for SpankyStokes online "Boombox-tastic" group show!
BOOOOOOOMMMMM!!!!! Not only is that the sound a Boombox can make, but the custom "Lil'G Mini Boombox" for the upcoming Boombox-tastic Custom Show that Sam aka UNCLE created can make a literal BOOOOOOOOMMMMM as well as he transformed his soft resin custom into a explosive deceive. Now even though this is fake, and does not actually include explosives, if carrying this onto a plane... well, lets just say I would not recommend it :-) Upon further inspection, I really dig the wear and tear of the custom, the burnt areas like it was toiled on in some dank/dark masterminds studio workbench... plotting his next move... and check out that digital display!!!
The "Boombox-tastic Custom Show" will be exclusively available online starting June 13th at SpankyStokes.com. Participating artists include: Abigail Bedwell, Alex Raveland, Ardabus Rubber, Chris Dyer, DrilOne, Jared Moraitis, Jasin Dollin, SpankyStokes, Josh Marlar, Slurg, Miss Zukie, MotorBot, Quiz71, Rsin, Ryon Xavior Smith, and Uncle.

"Toxic" resin Mini-MAD*L from MAD... glows in the dark, and is set to drop this Friday!!!!
Well... unless you have been living under a rock for the past month and a half, you know that Jeremy Madl aka MAD has been releasing limited edition resin Mini-MAD*L's every other week now... and he just dropped a hint as to what we can hopefully expect to see this coming Friday... and it GLOWS!!!! Limited to only 20 copies again, this very "Toxic" edition is looking extremely cool... and according to MAD, the image above really does not do this piece justice as he states "It literally lights up the entire room"!!!! We're assuming the price point will be $50 like the previous versions and if it's like the other drops that have happened, it will be a random time... so we encourage everyone to follow his artist and platform Twitter feeds for updated information. Alternatively, of course, you can just head over to his shop and keep hitting refresh, hoping you'll luck out…

Lunabee's Prince Of Mews custom Trikky is absolutely adorable!
Lunabee has created a new 4" custom Trikky entitled the "Prince of Mews," which is surely a must have for those of you that love cute kitties. As with many of her customs, this one comes with an amazingly detailed backstory…
In the heart of the beautiful lands of Booshka lies the Kingdom of Felinus. Felinus is not your typical Kingdom, there are no castles or grand estates, you wont find marble fountains or a treasury brimming with gold. Felinus is a Kingdom built around nature. Here you will find the most beautiful collection of intricate treehouses, the wooden walls carved with exquisite feline illustrations and these beautiful structures are home to a beautiful tribe of cats named the 'Harlequins'. The Harlequins are so named because their vivid, bright fur ranging from every colour in the spectrum. Here we have one of the older kittens of the tribe who just so happens to be the King's son. He was dubbed The Prince of Mews by fellow Harlequins after he failed to develop a proper 'meow'. This doesn't bother him at all as he prefers to be rolling round in the meadows with the ladybirds rather than playing with the other cats. His sister isn't quite so shy, but we will be meeting her a bit later…So not only is this piece amazing, but there will be a companion one — the Prince's sister — to follow! This one-off piece will be availble in Lunabee's web shop on May 22nd at 7PM London time for $125.

JC Rivera's Instagram-based Insta-droid custom Android InstaCharacter!
In a new twist on the previously purposed InstaCharacter, JC Rivera has made a custom Android figure entitled "Insta-droid." Yes, it is patterned to resemble the Instagram mascot and everything looks spot on. This is a work-in-progress pic, so I'm assuming Rivera just has some minor clean ups to do since it looks pretty damned finished. My favorite part is the leathery look to the top of the droid's head… very nice.
Skinner x Jay222 - H.P. Lovecraft "Figure-A-Month" release... "The Deep Ones" dropping 05/21/2012
So who's ready for another H.P. Lovecraft inspired piece designed by artists Jay222 and Skinner... I know I am, and for this "Figure-A-Month" release... those two continue with the monster goodness know as "The Deep Ones"!!! Skinner goes on to explain "These Cthulhu worshiping denizens of the dark waves of the worlds ocean are ready to come for you. Pull you down into the depths so that you may join them in the Call back to the ancient Lair where Cthulhu lays dreaming...awaiting the Stars alignment when one day He will rise and take the world back as his own...what will he do with the world once he awakens?"... and as you can see, Skinner took the amazing sculpt from Jay - the best one thus far in this awesome series - and gave it a flurry of sparkly goodness. This creepy creature weighs in at a very formidable size... 6" tall to be exact, and it comes bagged with a custom header card and features a seriously great sculpt by Jay222 where it was then painted up by Skinner. There will be only 10 of these ever made, and they are set to drop TODAY on Monday, May 21st at Noon PST via Skinner's online store HERE for just $100! These will be in high demand, so pull the trigger on this, because once the others drop... and you miss this one, you will be kicking yourself for sure!

Frank Kozik loves Shez's "Labbitank"… and you should too!
When someone like Frank Kozik responds to a post about a custom Labbit with a simple "love it," you know that's just enough to make the customizer's heart go pitter-pat… and that's surely the reaction Shez had when Kozik proclaimed his love for the "Labbitank" custom on Twitter. And — looking at the piece in question — it was well-deserved praise indeed.
This 10" Labbit was obviously heavily modified but it becomes even more impressive when you learn that Shez couldn't find a suitable donor tank kit to mash with the vinyl, so he had to make the treads from scratch and customize the body using sculpey, wood, rubber, and various little plastic pieces. The rusty, war-torn look is perfection and all the little details Shez added make this piece feel like what an actual tank shaped like a Labbit would look like. It won't be long now before Shez truly explodes in this scene, so if you want to get a custom from him you should act sooner rather than later; he can be contacted through his Facebook page, Twitter account, or direct e-mail at xshezx [at] yahoo [dot] com.

Peat Wollaeger x 1xRUN's Limited Edition Wood Cut-Outs Teaser!
You might recall we posted a teaser for Peat Wollaeger's series of wood cut-out businessmen from 1xRUN, which are now set to be released on May 23rd at 12 Noon PST. The 22.5-inch-tall "Eye On Bizness" pieces come in four color schemes: Aluminum, Blue, Grey, and Orange. The Orange Edition is the most plentiful, having a run size of 24 pieces for $150 each, while only 5 copies of Aluminum were made ($250 each)… though that's high numbers when you consider that Grey ($225) and Blue ($200) are limited to one and two copies respectively. Each nearly 2-foot-tall die-cut piece does come signed and numbered with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Sarah Joncas's piece for Virginia MOCA's "I Like Soup" Fundraiser!
You might recall us announcing the Virginia MOCA organized charity fundraiser "I Like Soup," which is timed to coincide with the locale's upcoming "Andy Warhol: Portraits" retrospective and "Fifteen Square Inches Of Fame" group show. Above is the beautifully painted, untitled contribution by Sarah Joncas to the fundraiser event. If you ever seen a picture of the lovely Joncas, then you might agree with me that this appears to be a self-portrait… maybe taking the name of the show, "I Like Soup," to a wonderfully literal level. Given the line-up of talent, even this odd 'canvas' is sure to shine.
"I Like Soup" opens on May 26th and runs through August 19th at the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art (VMOCA), 2200 Parks Ave., Virginia Beach, VA 23451. Participating artists include: Lauren Alpert, Glen Arthur, Rashidi Barret, Monée Bengtson, Eric Thomas Bostrom, Heather Bryant, Diana Caramat, Amy Chan, Kris Chau, Nomi Chi, Luke Chueh, Doug Clarke, Bob Dob, Dominique Fung, Susie Gharemani, Christine K. Croatian street artist Lonac creates "Skate Bones" out of abused decks!
Croatian street artist Lonac has developed a system for converting old used & abused skateboard decks into wonderful skeletal fish remains sculptures. He normally calls these creations "Skate Bones" but the above shown three were specifically designed to become "Dead Trophies" for Chill Shop to use at this year's Xstatic skate competition. I love how much those worn chips and cracks become meaningful expressive cues in the sculpture piece. Hopefully Lonac will open a webshop soon where people can buy these beautiful creations from.

VISEone's Venom from Amazing Spider-Man custom Munny!
Venom, the black alien goo symbiote from the Amazing Spider-Man comics, is wonderful represented here in the broad strokes by VISEone. This custom 7" Munny is covered using the "comic stripped" technique, that is to say that panels or scenes from comics have been painstakingly adhered to the vinyl form, before epoxy clay was used to mold that sneering, toothy mouth that fans of the comic will instantly recognize. The drizzled on black is that last little touch that brings it all together, representing the oily slime that actually is the Venom symbiote. This piece is available in VISEone's webshop for €110 (approx. $140) HERE.
