One thing that Dust is so great at is the whole distressed look, and usually we see that look with all kinds of grungy earthtone colors... but this go around he went with a more pastel pallet... and the end result is awesome! Neil Young's newest record with Crazy Horse, "Americana," is a collection of reinterpretations of classic 'American Folk Music,' including versions of classics such as "She'll Be Coming Around the Mountain," "Oh Susanna," "Tom Dula" (which you might recognize as "Tom Dooley"), "This Land is Your Land" and "Get a Job." Shepard Fairey to make visual ones… Fairy is making a representative painting for each and every track on the new album. The paintings will be previewed during a one-day only private event on June 1st at the

Johan is coming soon. For those that may not recall
Johan is the large fitness trainer to Lil Shadow in the Adventure Kartel world. The comic shown above gives a rough idea of what the figure may look like. Keep in mind that this is a older comic page and the folks at ThreeA may have made several changes to the design. The Beast Brothers have released this teaser image of their "Wood Calaverita Cube" with the simple statement: "soon." Sadly this picture doesn't give us an idea of the size of the piece, but the paint job looks fantastic. Behold
Stu Witter's absolutely stunning custom 8" Dunny… a commissioned piece made to resemble Boba Fett from
Star Wars. Aside from the picture perfect paint job, right down to the peeled paint areas on his armor, Witter needed to hand make many of those accessories to accurately complete this custom. And boy, did he nail it!
The gun, the jetback, the helmet, all look like what one would expect from an official production version of Fett in the Dunny mold… not a one-off custom. And while we all lament that this piece already has a home that isn't ours, we can always
contact Witter about commissioning a custom of our own.

Ferg. Produced by
Playge and made exclusively available through
Tomenosuke, we've been informed that the pieces will be done around May 25th and then immediately shipped to Japan. Rough estimates place availability at mid-June, but — to whet your appetite — you can more clearly see the tanto blade in this new pic and the sMAC 11 gun with removable suppressor.

This isn't an official reveal of
Nikejerk's 3" Dunny for the
Most Wanted Series 3 set, rather it's clean pictures of the radically & amazingly customized pieces from his "
Arr-Manda Too!" for the currently displayed
"Most Wanted: Behind The Hype" gallery show. That said, it looks strikingly close (if not exactly like) the MW3 piece we can see in
pictures from the group exhibit. So, I'm guessing, it just might be the same design. I'm also going to go out on a limb and guess that his Most Wanted 3 piece is entitled "Arr-Manda," thus giving the 8" version's title a little more meaning with the addition of "Too" at the end.
The piece is made to resemble (and work like) a Matryoshka doll (better known as a Russian nesting doll): the 3" Dunny splits in half — held together by magnets — allowing the customized Zipper Pull piece to reside inside. Wanna see how it will work?
Above is actually Nikejerk's prototype for his first "Hide-a-Dunny" rejected submission to MW3. It does provide a full fledged feel for how the nesting system works and what it looks like. Strangely, I think I like the Yeti more myself… but that could just be because I'm a sucker for cryptozoology.

The Australian-born couple known as
Dabs Myla recently had a new installation shown in their transplanted hometown of Los Angeles. Entitled "Break Night Lovers," the
Known Gallery exhibit was shown alongside Rime and KC's show "Sketchy M%#therfuckers." Dabs Myla transformed the space into an animated home, wherein all the 'normal' accoutrements of a living space were painted in the duos notoriously vivid color schemes with cartoonish faces completing every piece.
"Break Night Lovers" runs through May 19th at

I stumbled across these pics of
Dr. Barbados's work-in-progress custom Munny quite be accident, but it should be obvious why they floored me. The insane level of sculpting here is outstanding, from the intricate scale patterns to the small (and obviously intentional) wear on the belly plates. The skull head looks shockingly realistic and this multi-faceted eyes are insane. I can't wait to see the finished piece!

I love the
Andrew Bell O-No! series figures, which mix the morbid humor and cute appearance that I adore so. Thus when
VISEone unveiled his "O-No! Wasabi" one-off custom, which incorporated his Tube series format that I also am quite fond of, my heart went pitter-pat. Alas, the 9"-tall piece sold almost immediately, thanks — probably — in part to Bell sharing the image through his social networking sites. Heck, according to VISEone, the only reason he even did this was that his "O-No! Sushi" figure had a small accident which resulted in the vinyl cracking… but what a way to turn misery into deliciousness! Since VISEone is open to doing
custom commissions, it's always possible that one could ask him to do a similar piece…

Serato's "Artist Series" is a double-LP pressing designed by
Shepard Fairey, a celebration of his love not only for music but also for the vinyl platters we used to spin on turntables. Limited to a mere 2000 copies worldwide, this double record picture disc set features a "Serato Control Tone" on all sides and comes packaged in a clear plastic sleeve.
