Doubleparlour's "Sylvie #5" for Supahcute's show at Leanna Lin's Wonderland!

I've always had a fondness for Doubleparlour's hand-crafted sculpture pieces and "Sylvie #5," shown above, is no different. Created for the upcoming Supahcute Dream Team group show, this stunningly adorable figure will certainly fit in perfectly with the other 'aww'-inspiring pieces we've seen.

Matucha's "Teodoro" custom for the "Most Wanted" show at 1AM Gallery!

Be careful, Teodoro, it looks like your deep digging and mining has already claimed your right hand! This piece by Matucha, for the upcoming "Most Wanted: Behind The Hype" gallery show, is of unknown origins… that is to say that I can't tell if that's a Munny, Dunny or other base, which says great things about the extent of that head sculpt. Named "Teodoro" (the Spanish version of Theodore), this beastie appears to be a gopher of some sort, possibly a ground squirrel judging by the fantastically fluffy tail. And it certainly appears that the light on his mining helmet works!

"Most Wanted: Behind The Hype" (more information HERE) opens on May 11th (6:30-9:30PM) and runs through June 10th at the 1AM Gallery, 1000 Howard St., San Francisco, CA 94103. Participating artists are: RunDMB, Tim "timselF" Munz, Ryan the Wheelbarrow, Ardabus Rubber, JC Rivera, Grimsheep, Nikejerk, Artmymind, Gomi, Rsinart, Lickyourelbow, Pause, Chauskoskis, Uncle, Ian Ziobrowski, Matucha, Dr Befa, Chica Terremoto, Igor Ventura, Sergio Mancini, Luihz Unreal, Nevercrew, Hugh Rose, Carson Catlin, ClarkR, Muffinman, Lily Black, Megan "Me Smithy" Smithyman, Bubo, and Chris "We Become Monsters" Moore.

What the PUCK is Okedoki up to?!?!?!

You may all remember our post HERE back in 2010 (maybe not, since it's almost 3 years ago) where Okedoki customized a labbit to resemble a loveable pug dog named "Puck"... well, since then the response for that sculpt was so grand that she has decided to take it to the next step... getting it produced into vinyl! Vince over at VTSS Toys, the same company that produced Okedoki's "Benny The Dreamer", is the mastermind behind this project as well, and if you go visit his site HERE, he has put up a really great pictorial walkthrough of the creation process of "Puck"!!! There will be 250 figures in total to be released, with VTSS having 130, and the remainder will be exclusive to stores... having 30 each... a great store exclusive number if you ask me! So who is getting those specific colorways... well: Foosh Exclusive, Canada - Rotofugi Exclusive, USA - Secret Fresh Exclusive, Philippines - FlabSlab Exclusive, Singapore - VTSS Exclusive, Taiwan!!! No word on what colors those will be, but that will give us something to look forward to with our next post :-)

Martin Hsu's "Dragon Boy"... More progress!!

Artist Martin Hsu is keeping us all up to date with the progress of his soon to be release vinyl "Dragon Boy" figure... and above are the latest pictures, straight from the factory! Martin says "Just 3 months after handing over the prototype to Vince from VTSS and keeping a close eye on mold making, Dragon Boy is now on his way to fulfill a limited edition run with official release at SD Comic Con 2012!!!" As you can see from the above photos, this figure has all kinds of complex parts... more so then most designer vinyl figures. That being said, the factory decided to use a multitude of techniques and materials such as vinyl and PVC in order to keep all the fine details. This is really shaping up to be an awesome figure... and I can't wait to see the next step!

Greetings to all you freaks... looking for that next shirt fix, that one that can just put you over the top, that one that makes you feel so nasty when it's on yer back... well look no further because just like clockwork... the dastardly devils over at La Muerta are offering up another awesome limited edition t-shirt to the masses and this go around they have teamed up with Olde Soul to release yet another epic shirt design titled "The Argonaut"! "Someone at the top of the chain got fancy and recalled this dead argonaut to serve as an advance man for the carnival. A pale seaman renowned for his smooth and dapper style while handling sponsors and bribes… better have some tobacco and rum to spare on the side, maybe even your life. Either way, decaying gentleman here, will take it all with a loud smile." Oh, and as an added bonus... this shirt is a 3/4 sleeve, making you far less conspicuous at the docks!! This just like all of the releases from La Muerta is super limited, only 50 of these are EVER being made, and they are up for pre-order HERE right now for just $26! Half Rabbit, Half Shark... "Fluff Fin" coming soon!!

Artist Jenna Antonelli has taken her rabbit/shark hybrid drawings and turned it into a resin creature that is a little bit sweet and a little bit scary. "Fluff Fin" is this beasts name and I am having trouble using words to describe this unique piece. The combination of that sweet rabbit face and the foreboding shark tail put together as one, really is quite an interesting combo of herbivore/carnivore put together.

The sculpting job looks amazing and very smooth but the little chest part that sticks out bothers me a little bit but I think once it is painted it will look better. After looking through her blog most of her drawings feature a mash up of different animals and really are all fascinating to look at. If you are interested in getting your own "Fluff Fin" or would like to find out more information about this beast please click HERE.

Dr. Befa's "Rey de Nada" custom Dunny for Most Wanted Series 3!

We've been given a teaser picture of Dr. Befa's custom 3" dunnys for the Most Wanted Series 3 set, above left, with the title "Reyes de Nada." If your Spanish is a little rusty, that translates to "Kings of Nothing" and the plural makes sense since we can clearly see multiple figures. So I'm going to go out on a limb and hypothesize that Befa's custom is a vinyl version of his "Rey de Nada" ("King of Nothing") painting, shown above left… crown, sunken eyes, stylized forehead mark… hmm, I'm thinking I might be right. With no official confirmed release date yet, Most Wanted Series 3 blind boxed custom series is expected to drop by the end of May…

The 'Triple Crown of YoYo' mascot comes to life with help from Chris Ryniak, Rotofugi & Squibbles Ink!!!!

All I gotta say is that it's about time... and I am sure you all feel the same way!!! Spotted over a year ago as a concept for the 'Triple Crown of YoYo' competition, Steve Brown co-founder of the Triple Crown decided that this competition needed a mascot so he got together with artist Chris Ryniak and above is the result... a friggen awesome looking, YoYo wielding, monster of a beast (makes perfect sense)!!! Partnering with Squibbles Ink and Rotofugi Gallery, they set their sites on producing a very limited run of this 7" vinyl figure, and the first time these will be up for grabs will be during SDCC via the Rotofugi booth in a rad unpainted version... dibs!!!!!

Like mentioned above, Chris Ryniak designed this figure and then the folks over at Shinbone Creative sculpted it. In addition to the planned releases at SDCC, there will be special and super-rare Metallic Glow versions of the figure given out as trophies for the event… not available for sale, the ONLY way to acquire one will be to place in the top three in the Standard, Two-Handed, or Aerial freestyle divisions. Also available at the event will be the first painted release of the figure. This will happen in Chicago on July 28th... and any additional stock will be available online exclusively via TripleCrownYoYo.com. There is no word on a run number, or a price, but you can bet that no matter what they are, these will sell very quick! Once we get anymore supporting info we will update you all first!

Sekure D's "Swamp Thing" custom 7" Munny for Kidrobot's Munnyworld!

Regardless of if you're a fan of Alan Moore's classic take that helped launch the Vertigo line, the current DC Comics 'New 52' incarnation, or even the Wes Craven film version, this custom 7" Munny of "Swamp Thing" by Sekure D is sure to impress. We strongly suspect that Sekure D is correct when he calls this "by far the most detailed vinyl I have ever made," since the level of sculpting and painting required to create this amazing vinyl figure is astounding. This piece was specially made to be entered into Kidrobot's Munnyworld contest, so — if you like what you see (and who wouldn't?) — head over HERE and give the piece a vote!

Zukaty's "Talkalot" mini custom Dunny series… maybe…

London-based customizer Zukaty is considering doing a mini-series of Dunny customs based on birds: parrots, papagaios, macaws, etc. The only problem is that people are difficulty seeing the design in the above pictured test piece, which — to me — isn't as important as the fact that it's an amazingly cool looking custom with those swatches of bright colors and great line work. So help an artist out and give Zukaty your feedback either on the Kidrobot Forum thread, the Facebook page post, or in the comments section below.

Mondo x Tom Whalen's Toy Story by Pixar poster print!

For most of us, the magic that is Pixar was first introduced through their initial feature length outing: Toy Story. And now you can celebrate that wonderful film in style… with this hand numbered, screen printed poster print being released by Mondo in association with Sideshow Collectibles. Designed by Tom Whalen, this poster print for the movie is limited to a mere 540 copies at $50 each. Dave Bondi's piece for Tenacious Toys x Dead Hand Toys's "Resin Is King"!

It was just yesterday the we posted about the upcoming Tenacious Toys and Dead Hand Toys co-release "Resin Is King: Series 1"… and now we have our first picture of one of the pieces! The design was created digitally by Dave Bondi, brought into reality with a 3D printer, and then a mold was made from that prototype so that 'traditional' resin casting methods could be employed. I love how this simply designed crown interlocks and stacks, making trying to collect these 1:8 ratio blind boxed releases a must… having only one simply won't do!
