Zukie Palooza! Charms, Key Chains, & More...
It is a "Zukie" Palooza today! Alison Perez aka Miss Zukie is going all out with her "Zukie" Brand. First up is her "Zukie Emotion Head Charms." Ranging from Sad too Sleepy too Flirty and coming in a bunch of different colors, these "Zukie's" come packed with a face full of emotions. I love how she added a bunch of different facial features to these little guys as it adds so much more character to her lovable "Zukie's." These are retailing for $8 each and can be purchased HERE.
Up next are "Tiny Zukie Charms" which are made of sculpey and has hand painted details along with airbrushing. These cute little guys can be attached to your phone or key chain or backpack and are so cute in such little miniature form! I am definitely a fan of the brighter colors and at only $6 each would make a great inexpensive gift for you or a friend. If you get it for a friend though get an extra as you probably will not want to give it away if you only get one. If you would like to purchase a "Tiny Zukie Charm" please click HERE.

Dave Pressler's PLAYSAM custom for the show at Super7!
Above is Dave Pressler's "When I Drive I Daydream" custom Playsam Streamliner Classic for the upcoming "PLAYSAM 500" group show which will be hosted at Super7 and have all proceeds from sales going to the World Childhood Foundation. The sculpted figure is amazing, all the details of his business suit and — obviously — the wonderful bomb head; but what really makes this piece work, for me, is the rust like coloration… I love how this becomes a long forgotten metal toy, abandoned in someone's childhood. Poetically beautiful.
"PLAYSAM 500" opens on April 28th at Super7, 1427 Haight St. (@ Masonic), San Francisco, CA 94117. Participating artists include: Andrew Bell, Arbito, Clayton Bailey, Dacosta!, Super Cooper Berella, Beast Brothers, Betso, Kat Brunegraff, 64 Colors, Carson Catlin, DrilOne, Tristan Eaton, Brian Flynn, George Gaspar, Paul Greenwood, Gary Ham, Greglovestoast, Nathan Hamill, Jay222, Walter “Chauskoskis” Jacott, Jryu, Jeremiah Ketner, Paul Kaiju, Aya Kakeda, Frank Kozik, Josh Herbolsheimer, Travis Lampe, Matthew Langille, Josh Mayhem, Sarah Lunabee Miskelly, Frank Mysterio, Motorbot, Ritzy Periwinkle, Plaseebo, Patricio Oliver, Task One, Dave Pressler, Reactor 88, Jason “Aka Big Money” Rodan, Jermaine Rogers, Cris Rose, Scribe, Rsin Art, Ardabus Rubber, Skinner, Bwana Spoons, John “Spanky” Stokes, Steve Talkowski, Cameron Tiede, Scott Tolleson, Vise One, Angie Vtec, Ben Walker, Adam Washburn, The Air Rat, Julie West, Kevin Winnik, Nicholas Woodworth... and many others!

Simon Lee's (Spiderzero) "At the Gates of Hell"
I've long been a fan of Simon Lee and have known his stuff to be great but his latest project "At the Gates of Hell" for Monsterpalooza is just jaw dropping. Simon's "At the Gates of Hell" consists of 50 individually sculpted characters consisting of 35 individual molded and cast characters. One can only hope that these might end up as one of his resin casting he has for sale.
The Happiness Bastard serves up some Universal Monster Movie Mayhem!
The Happiness Bastard has donned his lab coat, mixed strange & colorful concoctions, and hand roto-cast his newest creation: the Pewkie! Yes, take a Kewpie body and add a Universal monster head… now you're in business! I actually really like the look of these silly things; they certainly make me smile. The first, very small wave of these will be released on Saturday, April 21st at 11AM EST in the Happiness Bastards online shop. They will only be sold as sets of four (Creature, Frankenstein, Mummy and Wolfman) at a price of $100 per set, though they do come blind bagged so you don't know which color combinations you'll end up with!

Valve new teaser, possible future 3A toy?
Spotted on Facebook this latest image from Valve has the toy community buzzing. While there's been various theories, the leading one is that this is indeed one of the toys being developed with the new collaboration between 3A and Valve. Looking at the size of the robot in the photo it certainly looks like a 1:6 toy from the Portal 2 game. Hopefully more details will come soon perhaps at RE:Venture. Look for updates soon.

VISEone's PLAYSAM custom for the show at Super7!
Drip… drip… drip… That's the sound of a car coming out of a paint tube. Um, wait, what? It can only happen in Wolfgang "VISEone" Ohlig's world! VISEone's custom Playsam Streamliner Classic is for the upcoming "PLAYSAM 500" group show which will be hosted at Super7 and have all proceeds from sales going to the World Childhood Foundation. The oozing layers and wonderful wood finish make this work just right, but I can't wait to see pics of the tube… VISEone always has fun designing the tubes.

Mikie Graham's "The Enemy Within" custom My Little Pony for Hasbro / Sweet Streets show!!!
Hasbro and Sweet Street's upcoming My Little Pony custom show is nearly at hand and the customs are finally starting to be revealed. Not wanting to be left behind, Mikie Graham aka ZombieMonkie of Blamo Toys shows us his entry into the show... a piece he is calling "The Enemy Within.", and as you can see Mikie has taken his DIY Mega Pony and transformed it into a scale replica of the famed Trojan Horse. Mikie tells us a little about this massive undertaking.
Source [ZombieMonkie Press]
"Because I was specifically doing this custom for Blamo I wanted to find a way to merge both of our styles. By combining the use of natural wood, sculptural re-configuration, and the tongue in cheek use of Playmobil soldiers I feel that I have done just that! To create my custom I used over 400 individual mini wooden boards cut from doll house flooring that I found at my local craft store. I then adhered the wood strips to the vinyl pony using a combination of several glues and the use of over 200 tiny brass nails that you can see ornately decorating the outside of the figure. Since this was a Mega pony I tried to packed it with as much detail as possible. Highlights include 2 scale accurate Playmobil soldiers visible through the pony's eyes, a hand sculpted tail and mane, and 4 functioning wooden wheels. If you look closely you can even see a tiny hidden door in the horses belly, with which the soldiers inside will escape their wooden decoy once safely within the walls of Troy!"As you can see by the plethora of pictures, Mikie went all out for this custom and if all of the other artists have worked as hard and long on their pieces this is bound to be one hell of a show! If you're in L.A. on or around the 5th of May make sure to drop by the Toy Art Gallery and check out all of the amazing work! more reveals to come... but WOW, just WOW is this going to be a had act to follow!

Extrano Kingdom is a forthcoming series of medieval inspiration!
Brazilian artist Leonardo Gielow Ferro is working on "Extrano Kingdom," a series of medieval-based characters he plans on releasing later this year. Above, on the left, is his sketch for the "King" character and, on the right, is the resin base-figure cast that all five pieces in the set will use (their accessories being what differentiates the designs). The series will include the King, Hangman, Jester, Wizard and Warrior and — personally — I like the look of the base model; the paunchy gut being what really does it for me, but the overall stance has something simple and intriguing about it. Ferro would like anyone interested in this project to friend him on Facebook or contact him directly, so that he can keep you updated on the release.
Pete Fowler's Monsterism Volume 2 found & almost gone!
Originally released by Pete Fowler back in 2002, during a recent "spring cleaning" expedition he found some stray copies of his Monsterism Volume 2 series. The blind boxes have been opened, allowing fans to fill in their collections by choosing which beasties they wish to buy… Quantities of these interchangeable parts critters are extremely limited and at only £6 (approx. $9.50) each we know they won't last long. In fact, at time of press, three of the six figures are already sold out; remaining are: Skeletina, It?, and Kay Tie, all available in Fowler's online store.
